Traditional Naan at Usman’s Pakistani & North Indian Cuisine
I have always been fascinated by the Indian cuisine. There’s so much variety and flavor to explore using my taste buds. It seems that there are several ways of cooking a curry dish. I thought there’s only one type of briyani and curry until I found about Usman’s North Indian version of these dishes.
I had a pleasure to revisit this restaurant the other night and try the other dishes that they offer.
We ordered Chicken Briyani, Chicken Tikka Briyani, Mutton Masala, and Plain Naan.
Before this dinner, we stroll around the Little India area to find Usman’s restaurant. It was a 15-minute walk around the area from the Mustafa Centre to the restaurant. It was a little tiring but it helped build our appetite which made our dining experience so much more pleasurable.
I took some photos of our stroll around the area.
Finally, we found Usman’s place!
Aside from the nice food, the staffs are also friendly enough to let us in their serving area and kitchen to take photos of the operation.
It’s awesome that they have a dedicated cook that makes and bake the Naan. It only shows how important it is in their line of menu.
No wonder, the Naan is so satisfying!
I ordered Naan to find out why many of the customers are ordering it instead of the rice. And there’s only one way to taste test it, so I pulled a portion of Naan and dip it in the Mutton Masala; it was delicious!
The Naan is plain but it has a hint of sweetness to it. It’s fluffy, doughy, and delicious especially when dipped in the curry.
The Chicken Briyani is good as well. I have to confess that I prefer this recipe because it suits my taste. The basmati rice is moist and the chicken isn’t too spicy. It has the right amount of flavor and spiciness level.
The Chicken Tikka has a nice smokey flavor to it.
After this meal, I felt full and almost unable to stand up. The best thing to do after this dinner is to go for a walk to help burn all of those calories.
It was a satisfying meal and experience as well.
Hello @funtraveller the rice looks different from Indonesian rice but looks tempting. I am sure I want to taste it.
Thank you for sharing your experience
Thank you so much @brumest and the rest of @qurator team 🙏
They look pretty cool but I have a question
