Taiwanese Braised Pork and Choco-Banana Muffin for lunch
I had a great lunch today! One of the stalls in Golden Mile Food Centre that I always wanted to try is open. It’s the Taiwan Fan Bao!
Choosing between Saba Fish and Braised Pork took me a while before I came up with a decision. I ordered the Braised Pork Rice and chose the stir-fried greens and cabbage as the side dishes. I was only given an option to either go for the boiled egg or steamed eggs, I think the boiled version is better so I went for it.
I think I made a good choice on the version of egg because it partners well with the braised pork. It also goes well with vegetables.
At a price of S$5.50, this is definitely a good deal because of the generous serving of vegetables. I feel healthier just by eating this meal because there is a good balance between protein, carbohydrates, and dietary fibers too.
There is a muffin stall next to the table where I dine and it was tempting so I bought one to try if it’s any good. I was a little suspicious at first because the price ranges from S$1.60 to S$1.90 which is cheaper than the Ah Tas Muffin that I tried before. With a cheaper price like this, I lowered my expectations so I don’t get disappointed when it isn’t satisfactory.
The chocolate chips are not the good quality type but the muffin or the cake is good. The banana filling saved this muffin, I liked it 👍👍.
Wow, it looks very enticing, its simplicity is simply drool-worthy.
