My first time trying BKK's Herbal Beef Noodles Soup
If there is a cuisine that always surprises me during the first bite is Thai food. The instant positive reaction that I have can't be compared with the other types of cuisine. The flavor, the texture, and the taste are so remarkable that I could never have had that experience with the other types of cuisine.
A few nights back, I had this craving for a bowl of noodles. I've eaten Chinese-style noodles on many occasions so I'm already familiar with the types of noodles and flavors. Since I wanted to have a different experience, I went to the nearby Thai restaurant called BKK Bistro & Bar. It's a chain of Thai restaurants that are offering Boat noodles in mini bowls at a very good price. But they also have a regular-sized version which is the one that I ordered on that night.
I had a bowl of Beef noodles with the herbal soup version.
Before I dig into this amazing bowl of beef noodle soup, let me talk about the vibe of the place for a moment. BKK is a bistro and bar so the operating hours are until 2:00 AM which is perfect whenever the late night or super early morning craving hits. The design of the place has a trendy look and I like the choice of modern furniture pieces and lighting as well.
Now let's talk about the exciting part, there are two versions of the soup, the herbal soup and Tom Yum. I chose the herbal soup version because I'm not used to eating spicy food.
I ordered the medium-sized bowl which is just perfect for my appetite during that night. The serving is generous enough to make me feel satisfied but not overly full.
In this bowl, I was served with glass noodles, beef strips, pork meatballs, and an aromatic soup.
The beef strips are what you would expect them to be, a little chewy and a strong beef flavor. While the meatballs is surprisingly nice, I could easily eat a dozen of these because it's tender and flavorsome.
The noodles are something that you would expect it to be as well. But the one that makes this bowl special is the herbal soup. Every sip of the soup feels like fireworks in my mouth. There are so many things happening in the flavor and taste but it doesn't complicate the dish. It tastes amazing and it's a bit addictive in a way.
This is a food experience that I would say is "affordable full pleasure" because of the good food, the good place, and the price is also good! That's the combination that is not easy to find these days.
I guess, they price the food as fair as possible except for the drinks which are very expensive in my opinion. That's something to expect in a bar because that is where the money comes from. Since I was only here for the food and I got what I came for... I'm leaving the place satisfied and happy!
I also like to experience the same. I haven't tried this dish. I hope it's available in my country.
I love the ambiance and the food itself.
Yay! 🤗
