A Day With Dad

I longed for his smile when he called out my name. I missed the things we used to do together. In three months' time, it will be two years since we last saw each other.

It was on my wedding day,I still remember shedding tears uncontrollably when he together with Mom and the rest of the family handed me over to my husband and his family as our culture demanded. I wished I could spend more days in our house but my new life has to begin.

Every day I imagine the happiness that is going to spread all over his face when he sees his grandson for the very first time. When we reach home this coming December you just have to believe me when I say, he is going to be the happiest man in the world.

I want to see the look on his face when he will ask me, " I hope you are taking care of my grandson in best possible way you can?" He used to ask me on the phone now and then but it is not like when we are seeing each other face to face.

I want to cook for him and Mom, my newfound and improved recipes. I miss his compliment when he eat my delicious meal😋.

I want to hear him tell how much he missed having me around. I want to sit down with him again while we gist like best of friends, talking about life and my next plans.

I want to hear him sing along to his favorite songs once again. While I shake my body dancing to the tune of his music.

I want to see him carry his grandson and shower him with love and affection. My dad is among the best kind of person any kid will be lucky to have around and I can't wait for my son to experience that with him. He is the type of person kids in the neighborhood always look forward to seeing because he is so natural, kind and lively with kids.

Now that I'm a mother I finally started to understand how he could be so cool with kids. He used to tell me that kids are the cutest being in the world. They are innocent, pure, adorable and loveable. And now I understand better.

Most of how I learned to treat my son in the best way I can, I got it from him and Mom, but I still want to learn more. And how is the best way to do that? It is by spending time with him physically. I do ask for his guidance every now and then but it will be better physically.

I know what you might be thinking🤔, oh, Funshee is Daddy's girl. Well just in case you missed reading that part of me in some of my previous hive posts. Yes, I'm Daddy's favorite on till tomorrow 🥰.

So, if I can spend a day with anyone right now. It will definitely be my dad. I have missed him so much. And I'm counting days already coming this December when I will be visiting home again.

I missed my Mom too, badly, but at least she visited us and spent two months during the birth of my son. And since I can't choose spending time with both of them. I will choose to spend it with Dad.

I hate to think that I will not have them around forever, for that I want to keep on creating good memories with them as much as possible and as long as time will let us.
