Hola, queridos cinéfilos. Bienvenidos a esta nueva entrega de películas que ví hace poco. En esta ocasión por la temporada de terror hay muchas recomendaciones de películas para ver y está me salió demasiado en Tiktok como la mejor de la temporada. Alerta de spoiler: Me mintieron.

Cosecha oscura es una película de terror y fantasía que se ambienta en un pequeño pueblo del Medio Oeste de Estados Unidos en los años 60. Cada año, el pueblo celebra un ritual letal que consiste en enfrentarse a una criatura sobrenatural llamada Jack Dientes de Sierra, que surge de los campos de maíz y desafía a los jóvenes a una batalla sangrienta. El protagonista es Pete McCormick, un adolescente rebelde que quiere escapar de su aburrida vida rural y que decide participar en el ritual para demostrar su valentía y ganar el premio: una bolsa llena de dinero y dulces. Sin embargo, lo que Pete no sabe es que Jack Dientes de Sierra es más que un simple monstruo, sino que es el resultado de una antigua maldición que afecta al pueblo desde hace generaciones. Pete tendrá que enfrentarse no solo a Jack, sino también a los secretos oscuros que esconde el pueblo y a sus propios miedos.

Opinión

En mi opinión es una película de terror que mezclan monstruos, rituales, gore y humor. Es una película ideal para ver en Halloween y disfrutar con la tensión y las sorpresas que ofrece. No es la obra del terror que me prometieron, pues lo pusieron en el mismo nivel que la Monja o el conjuro y en esa parte se quedaron cortos.

Me encanto este final

La película tiene un tono divertido, que no se toma demasiado en serio a sí misma ni a su argumento. Los personajes son estereotipados, pero eso forma parte del encanto de la cinta, que juega con los clichés del género y los subvierte. Los jóvenes protagonistas son rebeldes, valientes y curiosos, dispuestos a desafiar las normas y los secretos que esconde el pueblo. El monstruo es una mezcla de espantapájaros, calabaza y cuchillo, que da miedo pero también risa. Y los adultos son unos fanáticos que siguen un ritual anual sin cuestionarlo.

La película tiene un buen ritmo y una buena ambientación, recreando la época y el lugar con acierto. La fotografía es oscura y lúgubre, contrastando con el colorido de los disfraces y las calabazas. La música es rockera y pegadiza, acompañando las escenas de acción y persecución. Y los efectos especiales son efectivos y sangrientos, mostrando las muertes sin reparos.

Me frusta como termino él

Cosecha oscura es una película que se disfruta sin pretensiones, como un pasatiempo entretenido y macabro. No es una obra maestra ni una película que vaya a marcar un antes y un después en el cine de terror, pero tampoco lo pretende. Es una película que homenajea al Halloween clásico, con sus monstruos, sus sustos y su diversión. Si te gustan este tipo de películas, no te la pierdas.

Dark Harvest is a fantasy horror film set in a small town in the Midwestern United States in the 1960s. Every year, the town celebrates a lethal ritual that involves facing a supernatural creature called Sawtooth Jack, that emerges from the cornfields and challenges the young men to a bloody battle. The protagonist is Pete McCormick, a rebellious teenager who wants to escape his boring rural life and who decides to participate in the ritual to prove his bravery and win the prize: a bag full of money and candy. However, what Pete doesn't know is that Jack Sawtooth is more than just a monster, but is the result of an ancient curse that has affected the town for generations. Pete will have to face not only Jack, but also the dark secrets that the town hides and his own fears.

Opinion

In my opinion it is a horror film that mixes monsters, rituals, gore and humor. It is an ideal movie to watch on Halloween and enjoy the tension and surprises it offers. It is not the work of terror that they promised me, because they put it on the same level as the Nun or the spell and in that part they fell short.

I loved this ending

The film has a fun tone that doesn't take itself or its plot too seriously. The characters are stereotyped, but that is part of the charm of the film, which plays with the clichés of the genre and subverts them. The young protagonists are rebellious, brave and curious, willing to challenge the rules and secrets that the town hides. The monster is a mix of scarecrow, pumpkin and knife, which is scary but also funny. And adults are fanatics who follow an annual ritual without questioning it.

The film has a good rhythm and a good setting, recreating the time and place successfully. The photography is dark and gloomy, contrasting with the color of the costumes and pumpkins. The music is rocking and catchy, accompanying the action and chase scenes. And the special effects are effective and gory, showing the deaths without qualms.

It frustrates me how he finishes

Dark Harvest is a film that is enjoyed without pretensions, like an entertaining and macabre pastime. It is not a masterpiece nor a film that is going to mark a before and after in horror cinema, but it does not pretend to be either. It is a film that pays tribute to classic Halloween, with its monsters, its scares and its fun. If you like this type of movies, don't miss it.
