Day 1 of 365 days recommending one album per day hello I am Mary and I am a musician and I set out to do this challenge for a whole year to share and give visibility to great artists that are only remembered by a few, the intention is not to make a list of the best, far from that is only to recommend albums and to make it even better I will do it by decades. First album I am going to recommend for the 50s is the one by Ella & Louis. By Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong
It is a jazz standards album, if you like jazz, and even if you don't "listen to it"
Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong were two super iconic figures in jazz, she as a singer and he as a singer, but also initially as a trumpeter, exquisite words suit her very well. Hopefully, listening to this album will serve as a starting point to listen to the entire discography of Ella Fitzgerald and the entire discography of Louis Armstrong. Día 1 recomendando un disco por día hola soy mary y soy música y me propuse hacer este reto por todo un año para compartir y dar visibilidad a grandes artistas que van quedando solo en la memoria de unos pocos, la intención no es de hacer una lista de los mejores, muy alejado de eso es solamente recomendar discos y para que sea todavía mejor lo voy a hacer por décadas. Primer disco que voy a recomendar para los años 50 es el de "Ella & Louis",de Ella Fitzgerald y Luis Armstrong.
Es un disco de standards de jazz, si te gusta el jazz y si no también "escuchalo".
Ella Fitzgerald y Louis Armstrong fueron dos personas súper iconicas el jazz ella como cantante y él como cantante pero primero también como trompetista, palabras exquisita le queda muy bien ojalá que escuchar este disco le sirva de puntapié para escuchar toda la discografía de Ella Fitzgerald y toda la discografía de Louis Armstrong déjame en los comentarios qué disco no puede faltar en esta lista de 365 discos.

Never I was too much in Jazz. Perhas I never took the time to dive into it though. Agree with you, Ella and Louis are not to be forgotten. have some of their work on tape still. Let me go a little bit later in time, the 70s. Electronic Music. After the kinda first steps in the 60s, perhaps even 50s, a range of artists emerged who are considered pioneers by today's artists such as Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, and Brian Eno. The first album by Brian I link here.

A range of artists shall be on your list, from the Beatles to Jerry Lee Lewis to uhm ... All the oldies basically (lol) ... Owww what about Marlene Dietrich? And Edith Piaf?
Definitely they were pioneers in electronic music. Eno with experimental electronics and alternative rock.
I am not a big fan of electronic music, but there are some really good things out there. I listen to it from time to time. I hope to be able to collect many of the classics, although some may be left out. Haha Edith Piaf I love her.

Somehow I was pulled into the rabbit hole of el😆ectronic music back in 1988 when two things came on my path:
This rental place ordered everything their customers wanted, ie when an artist wasn't on their shelves; I simply asked for it; They ordered it. They just started when I moved there (and no, I didn't select that home because of that shop, or did I not? 😆). Had the change of going through so many genres, styles and whatnot. Discovered tons of artists and albums. Rented 4 to 8 CDs a week. Somehow I stuck to the more electronic side of things, well, perhaps the music without lyrics. Perhaps because not too many peeps liked such. Nothing of such in the top 40 to 100. Not on TV. Not on radio. Anyways, ones in that rabbit hole, it is might difficult to get out of it... Kinda like a black hole perhaps? 😅
Classics: well Elvis must be getting in your list! And a bit older, Shirley Bassey. Owww the movies, Fred Astaire hahaha
I understand the feeling, something similar happened to me. Surely you didn't choose the accommodation because of the store??? I would have done it hahaha. Ufff you consumed a lot of music for that time. Those were good times. I also remember my first approach was with a cassette player that I found around the house when I was very young that had some Billie Holiday songs, I will never forget it and some by the Beatles, I would not let go of the cassette player, I was always glued to it, until my grandfather noticed that I liked it a lot and at night he would take out some records he had and tell me about the artists and their history until I fell asleep, I will never forget this. Until I grew up and technology developed and well, now it is quite easy to have music at everyone's fingertips. But I will never forget those nights of stories and good music that my grandfather gave me.
