☀️ Times of Technological Kindness.
How does technology impact the promotion of kindness and compassion in society?
In an increasingly unkind world, technology becomes an important piece to help promote kindness as a more humane way of living or, on the contrary, to make this lack of kindness visible and make it more present and real.
Something that I have noticed in recent times and that has to do with the massification that social networks and messaging services can achieve, is how fast a message can spread, which can be destined to a single person and by that same high level of propagation, end up on the screen of millions of people around the world.
Now, if that message is sensitively charged with, specifically, an act of kindness, the response can spread and cause that simple act to multiply exponentially. But the reality is that rarely happens.
I think it has a lot to do with the perception we have of the falsehood in many of these "acts of kindness", which, sadly, only have the intention of gaining more followers, more views, more comments, more "likes" and in some cases, more money in their accounts.
And this is ratified when, in this same way, in many of these publicized and viral acts of kindness, it is shown that they are tailor-made. I am not forgetting the case of the girl who showed herself to be kind to the environment by collecting garbage on a beach, and then, after making sure she got the best shots with the bags full of garbage, she left them there and walked away happy and smiling.
Also, with some war conflicts taking place in various parts of the planet, this power of technology to propagate brings us closer in an immediate way, and sometimes in real-time, to situations where kindness is conspicuous by its absence. This, I believe, helps us to discover how far human beings are capable of going when differences, whatever they may be, take us away from the kindness of life.
My Kindness Diary
Monday: I gave out some food for the street animals that lived near my house. I have two cats and I know that many stray animals sometimes don't have anything to eat or drink. So, whenever I can, I prepare some extra of what I give to my pets and distribute it to some dogs, cats, and birds that are part of my community.
Tuesday: My daughter needed to complete an important homework assignment for her classes and I helped her make it easier, faster, and with a lot of creativity with the help of technology. More specifically, I helped her discover the Canva application and her happy face when she was able to finish a triptych on her own and it looked great, priceless to match.
Wednesday: In my country, buying domestic gas for our kitchens can be an odyssey. The government (a sort of organization dedicated to evil) tightly controls this activity and we are severely constrained by it. This day, during the day of allocation of this "benefit", I helped several neighbors with their gas cylinders, and they thanked me with a big smiles since they did not expect it.

Many thanks for sharing your thoughts, “ falsehood in many of these acts of kindness" this is sadly true of some people, and truly unfortunate. I had not heard the story about the garbage bag on the beach, but I know of many people exploiting others with staged acts of “kindness”, such as filming themselves giving money to homeless people just for photo opportunities.
My daughter was homeless for a while, I helped as much as possible from here, she is in the UK. I went into considerable debt trying to pay for accommodations and such. She shared a story of someone on TikTok who filmed themselves and locations of giving a couple of pounds ($$) and sharing location, there were bad people that went and found some of the homeless people that were filmed, and beat them up.
I believe we all have to account for our actions, one way or another, and what goes around, really does come around. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
This is curious: Last night I responded to your comment through @leofinance Inleo.io but, I don't know what happened, it wasn't loaded, it wasn't saved. The truth is that it is not here.
In any case, when it comes to money and social networks, at least here in Latin America, it can be very dangerous. The thugs now also specialize in these new technologies and use them to be unkind. And every day there are more cases of "influencers" who are discovered to be more fake than a $13 bill. Thank you for the opportunity to write on the topic.
I have had problems with Leo myself, sometimes it depends how you signed into it, using keys, Hivesigner or Hive Keychain, and sometimes you have to clear your browsing history and cache, ensure browser is latest version, and use keys to sign in. That was the work around from someone who is part of Leo.
Well I'm scraped. I use Windows 7 and my PC is old. It seems that the developers don't want anything to do with vintage.
Awwww, sorry my friend. But other front ends should be good right?
Yes of course. I am always in Ecency, sometimes I move in Peakd as well as InLeo and from time to time I walk through Hive.Blog, CTPTalk, DLux and SplinterTalk. We have many options to connect on this blockchain.
I have not used some of those front ends. I like ecancy, but I don’t like how the editing screen looks when composing, and I had a few posts that I had built in there and lost because it was glitching. It may be better now. I really like D.buzz and find PeakD to be really stable, and like the side by side composing screen. I have not used Hive.Blog, CTPTalk, DLux or SplinterTalk. I do like ecency waves, and there is a direct message system as part of d.buzz, but I’m just learning that.
Thank you very mucch!

It is just amazing how you connected the theme of kindness with technology and all of that.
I totally agree with you, if we can make kindness have the quality of technology, our world will be better ,
Nice work here
Thanks for the comment friend. I like those acts of kindness that are recorded by security cameras and that are clearly not manufactured. They are a sample of the kindness that many possess without showing it. Greetings.
Yes, they are awesome to see. truly unstaged. Thank you for your support my friend.
Thank you so much. I agree.
I love your characterization of govt :D I know in my heart that we are all part of it etc. etc. but the govts of the world are indeed very infuriating.
Leaving that aside the false part of social media is so true. Till the start of Feb I would not write anything about kindness or any other virtue, cause I felt it made me like "those social influencers" and it will look like I am trying to mine for sympathy and likes.
Interacting with @gregscloud made me realize that it is important for us to do stuff intentionally and also show we are doing it so others can join us and we can create a tribe. So finally I have started taking baby steps and writing about it. So I say let's forget the false people and all of us will try and remain true and honest in ourselves.
It was great reading your post @fragozar01 Cheers from a fellow #dreemerforlife
I have really been enjoying reading your posts and getting to know you, my friend. I care a lot about how my community is perceived. It's important to promote kindness and sharing to inspire others but there are, as you mentioned, so many people who do things for self-serving reasons. I encourage kindness and sharing about it because there are ways that people may demonstrate kindness that another may not have thought of.
It is good to be intentional about kindness and help to inspire and encourage one another. I appreciate the support from @dreemport and its wonderful members who have become friends. I am so moved and truly humbled by this experience.
I think it is good to have conversations about and discuss kindness in all its forms and to support one another.
Let's talk about kindness and help each other!
Technology has made it easier for us to connect with people and build relationships through acts of kindness. One thing about genuine kindness is having a good intention about practising it and not just for rewards or praises, that way, the benefits and positive impacts of kindness will be fulfilled.
Your kindness journal is unique, both human beings and animals need to experience kindness and you have done that.
This was a good read. Thanks for sharing.
Being a #dreemerforlife
Technology when used in a good way has helped promote kindness in our world. Also your journal is really thoughtful and amazing.
