With care and knowledge

Today we spent our day to the bottling plant. Not as satisfying as a day in the farm and hardly as photogenic but it is part of the same dream and we do this step with the same love and gratitude that we treat our trees.

Producing a superior quality organic extra virgin olive oil is a wonderful adventure but preserving its characteristics throughout the year and distributing it to people that will appreciate it, is an also very demanding job that should be done with care and knowledge.

If you are wondering why we were there all day long since there are employees to do the job, let me tell you that it wasn't for taking pictures. I guess that it is part of our obsession to be physically involved to every single step from the tree, to the grocery's shelf and if not doing everything by ourselves, at least helping as much as we can.

I don't know, maybe if we keep doing this for ten or twenty more years, we won't bother so much. But for now we see all the hard work of the last eight years into that bottles and we want everything as close as possible to what we think fit to our standards.

Our brand name is Four Hands since it all began as a two people's quest. I wrote in September a detailed post about the project and what drive us into this adventure and by us I mean @traisto and myself, so if you missed it and you want to know more, just follow the link.

As for myself I think I had a pretty long day and I deserve some rest now. Excuse me if the editing is not the best possible. I did it on a small laptop's screen as I was laying on the couch, sipping my cocoa. Not the most professional way to edit pictures but today it is more a life update than a photography post. I think I did took a few descent shots though :)

Yes, these are great shots and shows a side of production that most of rarely see. It is great you want to be so involved in the process.

That is so fantastic. It must give a great sense of satisfaction to be able to see all the fruits of your labours finally get to bottling.

I hope one day we will visit you and try this green gold. Btw how was a year with olives and does this cold weather in Greece affect a lot?

I see, cool. Maybe one day I will own a small olive orchard :) Olive oil is just my favorite. We are making our own pumpkin oil. It is good and all but olives...

Wow, this is incredible! I did not know about the project before, well done! Hopefully, soon it will require more than 4 hands 👍
