Strictly walking
Walking is a favourite activity of mine and a little rain never stops me from going out, especially when I have planned a very special stroll, at a very special place. And as you can see from the pictures, I wasn't the only one who was determined to ignore the wet weather and go ahead with their plans!
Anyway it wasn't much of a rain, more like a drizzling that was starting and stopping every now and then. Just enough to make our walk a bit more interesting :)
So despite the questionable weather, I left home as planned. I drove to the parking lot on the top of the hill and parked at the far end of it. It turned out that quite a lot of people where already there before me. I left the warmth of the car and headed to the massive stone entrance. The rest of the tour would have to be strictly walking.
When you enter a Venetian fortress there is no other way to move around :)
This happens to be one of the most beautiful and well preserved castles in Greece and it also happens to be a few meters away from my home! Despite the fact that it's more than three centuries old, it still stands as good as new!
And although I have had the pleasure of walking within its walls a lot of times in the past, one more time is always welcome :)
Enjoying the unobstructed view, peeping through the crenels or just walking on the top of the hill, is a lovely way to start your day!
And the pictures are always great from up there. No matter if it is cloudy or sunny there are always a lot of opportunities for interesting shots.
Don't you think so?
If you have missed my previous posts let me remind you that this is the fortress of Palamidi overlooking the town of Nafplio, in Greece.
I went for this walk on Sunday. I have already told you a bit about it and have shown you a few pictures in this post but exploring this fortress takes more than one post to describe :)
The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 24-105mm lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic .

With a place like this I can never be tired of taking a walk and feeding my eyes.
You are very lucky, it is not far from where you live.
