One more day at work
You should know the drill by now :)
Checking in the hotel, dropping off the luggage, taking a few pictures of the facilities, to be used at the magazine for the promotion of the hotel that hosts us and off we go, taking pictures all day long!
Our accommodation this time is called Marinero and it is one of the many small hotels that you can find all over the island. Cute, neat, pleasant, are some of the words that I was thinking as I was doing the shooting!
The next morning I would add comfortable too :)
The white chapel with the flag fluttering above the cross, is a picture that I have done so many times but it is a cliche that I just can't avoid! When you visit the Greek islands, it is practically mandatory to take a picture like that and who am I to go against the flow :)
I know, I know the fishing boats are a cliche too and it is true, I have taken hundreds of similar pictures.
What can I say!
Shoot me for lack of originality :)
But they do look nice, don't they?
The streets of the village are also charming but it is summer, it is noon and the place to be is, no other than the beach!
At the time of the shooting I didn't have any special feelings about surfing but now that I have met @riverflows this is no longer the case!
And as usual the picture of the dusk is closing the day, while my cocktail is already served and waiting for me :)
This was one more day from my life as a travel photographer for a Greek magazine, from 2009 till 2013. The village is called Naoussa and it is on the island of Paros, the centre of the Cyclades complex of islands, in the Aegean sea.
Thank you for reading and if you want to know more about me you can check out my introduction post.
Commenting, upvoting and rebloging are highly appreciated!
How do you become a travel photographer for a Greek magazine?
Feels like a pretty awesome job!!:)
I saw an add, I prepared a portfolio, I made an appointment, I took the job :)
It was a very interesting job and it left me with a huge archive of pictures from all over Greece. It was also extremely tiring, underpaid and stressful but you can't have it all!
Thank you for stopping by!
That simple:D
Oke I guess it looks like the "dream job" from the outside... before you know how it actually goes. But still traveling while making money is kind of an awesome thing to figure out, I find:)
I can't argue that! Getting payed to travel and photograph beautiful places is the dream job and with all its difficulties I wouldn't change those years :)
All the pictures are very nice. I envy your work jeje
Thank you very much, I am glad you like them :)
