My world

IMG_8738.jpg

Nature is full of colour.
And a proper photographer should capture it.

I have done that many times,
as I should.

But not today, not in those photos.

Today I choose monochrome.

I choose colour to be an absent element,
screaming its presence,
by not been there.

What I do in life is important.
And I get judged for that.

I often feel though
that what I don't do, is equally important,
if not more.

The lie I didn't say,
the job I didn't take,
the path I didn't follow.

And today
something more trivial,
the colour I don't show.

Diving in nature
as in a bucket full of shadows.

A palette of greys
forming a still world.

My world.

Some times you have to hide something
in order to make it visible.

By hiding colour I don't disappear it,
I emphasise it.

And by cutting my words
I strip my thoughts
from a useless veil of babbling.

Or at least I try.

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 100mm f2.8L macro lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic .

All the pictures and the words are mine.

Thank you for reading and if you want to know more about me you can check out my introduction post.

It's a little disturbing at first to see vivid photos of nature in black and white. It gives a so different atmosphere, almost anxious, but actually calmer.
"By hiding colour I don't disappear it, I emphasise it." That's true, because our brains are so used to seeing colours on plants that they immediately imagine and put colours on these photos (at least mine does :)) and maybe imagine the colours even more vivid than they are in reality.

Yes, calm and quiet is what comes into my mind when I see them.

Thank you for stopping @pipoune :)

I chose silence here... I thought you needed it. But you've been quiet for so many days that I'm already worried. I hope you are well.

Everything is fine, thank you for asking. I wondered if anyone had noticed :)
I think often of starting again, I even have an unfinished post in the drafts but it just doesn't flow, so I am allowing myself some time off, until I feel like writing again.

Cheers!

I'm glad to hear this, that you are well and will be posting again soon. No need to force anything, right?
I suppose so, that many are wondering where you are but perhaps they are not as bold? as I am to ask.

;)
