If only
Have you ever taken a decision, only to regret about it a few minutes later?
I am sure you have. It happens to me all the time. So many times that I have said "if only".
If only I had done this instead of that, if only I had said something else and in this case...
...if only I had taken my camera with me!
Because this morning, I went out to walk the dog without taking a camera along. Partly because I wanted to enjoy the sunshine without carrying an extra weight, partly because I though that I have taken so many pictures of that same walk that enough is enough!
But the minute I arrived above the beach and saw the view, I totally regret it! Not so much to go back home and take a camera but enough to take out my phone and try to substitute the lack of a more serious image capturing device :)
I counted five people swimming and a few more sunbathing but although the sea looked so tempting I continued uphill to the castle and the meadow I discovered a couple of weeks ago. After all I had a canine friend with me and I had promised him some time off the leash :)
The tower of the clock (you can't see the clock in the picture above but it is there, you can take my word for it) was a major milestone. A few meters away from the meadow and the second part of our walk where the dog would run in a frenzy and I would roam around taking pictures of flowers and catching some sun!
On the way back I took one more shot of the sea accompanied by a big sigh.
If only I hadn't stopped swimming a couple of months ago...
Today I used the camera of my Xiaomi Redmi Note 12s and I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

Ohh yes I have said that many times, and yes often for not havign my camera with me and I can see why you felt that way so beautiful but your phone did a greta job

I think it is normal that it happens to us to make a decision and then regret it, if it has not happened to you, it is because you do not have to make decisions in your life.
How not to regret taking the camera, if these places you visit are really very beautiful, I think it is worth carrying extra weight, if the reward is these beautiful postcards

Don't worry, I don't swim only because it is winter and I am not so brave to be a winter swimmer as the ones I saw. But in a few months I'll start again :)

I am glad you like them! Cell phones are ok for landscapes in broad daylight indeed but when I look at them in a big monitor, I still regret I didn't have my camera :)

It's just that you are a stoic to a certain extent and you only put yourself in uncomfortable situations in order to appreciate the camera you have for what it's worth. Hahahaha... but hey, these Xiaomi photos are great. Don't regret it.

Yes they are ok but far from perfect! We have a term in Greek, something like professional perversion for those that can't be satisfied unless they achieve perfection in their area of expertise. But of course perfection doesn't exist so they are always unsatisfied :)

Δίκιο έχεις, το είπα! Αλλά έχω πει και ότι χιόνισε στα βουνά απέναντι και όπως και να το κάνουμε, λίγο κρύο το έχει :)
Βασικά γι'αυτό είπα "μακάρι να μην είχα σταματήσει". Το τελευταίο μπάνιο το έκανα την επομένη των Χριστουγέννων και αν συνέχιζα θα ήταν εύκολο, με τέτοιες λιακάδες και τόσο ωραία θάλασσα. Αλλά όταν σταματάς τον χειμώνα είναι δύσκολο να ξαναρχίσεις. Δεν πειράζει, λίγη υπομονή μέχρι την άνοιξη :)
Ααα, τότε κάνει το κρύο του, η λιακάδα είναι μόνο για τις φωτογραφίες χαχαχα. Πρέπει να κάνεις σαν τους Ρούσους που μπαίνουν στα παγωμένα νερά το χειμώνα 🥶😂😂😂.
Στην Κρήτη και στα άλλα νότια νησιά σίγουρα δεν θα είναι τόσο κρύα η θάλασσα 🤔.
