At last!

The sun was about to set and I was in the car, moving on the seaside road, when I saw them. Fortunately I wasn't driving so I had the chance to gaze across the tranquil water and spot them.

At last!

After a year and a half that I live close to one of their habitats, I finally saw them and I was lucky enough to have my camera with me too :)

I asked my friend at the driver wheel if he minds to make a stop and he was more than happy to stretch his legs on the sand. He drove the car on the dirty road along the beach and parked it, a few meters away from the sea.

The timing was perfect. The sunset on one hand, the old town on the other, a cruise ship leaving towards another destination and the feather beauties sitting peacefully on the sea!

Flamingos are only visitors at this place, they stop during their migratory trip to the north in the spring and the opposite direction in the autumn. But they don't come all at once so bigger or smaller groups of them can be seen in the area for quite a few months in total.

Not to have seen them from up close, at least one time, was unforgivable!

The sound of the cracking shells was distracting me as I was walking along the sea, trying to find the best angle to take photographs, without disturbing the noble birds. Everything was so quiet and peaceful that even my steps or the camera's shutter sounded too loud.

Apparently only in my mind since no-one else seemed to be bothered :)

The images of abandonment on the beach facilities was completing the peacefulness of the scenery and added a surrealistic note at those, already unreal, birds :)

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with an EF 80-200mm f2.8/L zoom lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

All the pictures and the words are mine.
