Mentoring 3 newbies and shopping at God's own Supermarket

Its a brand new week and SpendHBD promotion continues. I had planned to have some rest today, but some of the friends called and said they want to come with newbies. Of course, I had to provide the necessary support so that these newbies could join the SpendHBD project and have fun like others.

So we agreed to meet at my office by 10am for Hive/SpendHBD mentorship. That would be how I spent half of my Monday. It was a great experience and opprotunity for them and we ended up shopping at God's Own Supermarket so they can have their first experience.

Like I said earlier, there are three newbies and all were invited by older members of the group. But in total, we have 7 persons present including the newbies. Below are the usernames:

We used my office for the mentorship since its not a large crowd. I first of all explained what the Hive Blockchain is and how it defers from other social media. Since the new friends are already on Facebook which is popular here, it was not difficult to see the difference and superiority that Hive offers. Once the background information about Hive was clear, I moved on to explain what the SpendHBD project is all about.

They all understood how the SpendHBD discounts work and why crypto payments are to be preferred over fiat or cash payments. The next part of the presentation focused on creating accounts for the newbies. I used the Hive Keychain account creation which is very fast since the network was not too strong. It didnt take too long before the accounts were all created.

Then I made sure they downloaded Hive Keychain in their devices and Ecency too. Their profiles were set up through Ecency and keys imported in Keychain. Once everything was ready, its time to demonstrate making payments.

Each person bought some HBD which they will use to make purchases at the supermarket. I have to create a demo payment QR code and show each person how to scan and pay. It was not hard to learn. After I made sure that everyone can make payments, I gave each person the SpendHBD branded plastic bags. We took group pictures before heading off to God's Own supermarket to make purchases. The supermarket is just few minutes from my office and it wasn't long before we got there. Each person was encouraged to look for something to buy. Once that is done, the shop attendant generated codes and they all scanned to pay. After that, they claimed discounts. It was really fast and easy and they are enjoyed the experience. At the end of the shopping, we posed together for group photograph as you can see below.

Introduction posts and the Week ahead

The newbies were all excited about the experience and it all went as planned. They promised to quickly work on putting up their introduction posts as fast as possible. Of course, they are also eager to share their experience about SpendHBD in their story. We will look forward to that.

The week has just begun and it promises to be super busy for me. I plan to list some businesses and possibly a new restaurant too. Then I will work on branding too. Our members need printed T-shirts so I will go to the market to buy some and later send them to the printer for branding. It will be sweet to have all members wear their branded T-shirts in our next ShoKiN event. Of course, I plan to make a banner too.

I am also going to plan our end-of-the-year Hive meetup powered by SpendHBD. It would be a superb event, an opportunity to meet Hivers in the city and beyond to round off the year. These are some of the activities that will make my week a pretty choked-up one. But I hope to accomplish everything that I have planned.

SpendHBD remains the best way to onboard new users to Hive. This project is not appreciated enough for the value it will add. But sooner or later, it will break into the top 10 trending community on Hive. So I call on all our friends to support it and lets all make it our own.
