My unforgettable memory of a crush

I just got back from my service year in my Nation, and guess what? My long-time crush, the guy I’ve been crushing on since my university days, popped back from the United States out of nowhere! We stumbled upon each other on Facebook and immediately fixed a date to meet up. I was so excited that I turned my wardrobe upside down searching for the perfect outfit. I finally settled on this fabulous new trouser jeans that I couldn’t wait to show off. If I had known this trouser would create a funny memory, I wouldn't have picked that particular one 🤣

So, the big day arrived, and we met up. He took me to this restaurant where I had the most delicious meal I’ve ever tasted! I mean, I was practically singing love songs to my plate; the Chinese Rice was so yummy! We were gisting like old friends catching up on years of missed gossip. Just when I thought the day couldn't get any better, we decided to switch it up and head to a cool bar to continue our playful gist when something strange happened 🤔

As I stood up to leave, I suddenly felt this strange breeze wafting under my thigh. I thought, “No way! This can’t be happening!” I brushed it off, hoping it was just a figment of my imagination. But once we were outside, Kunle casually dropped the bomb and asked me to check my trousers. My heart sank faster than my chances of hiding under the table! I felt like I should just sprout wings and fly home preferably without any pants on! How on earth could you disgrace me in front of my crush, that was my thought. I was sweating at the same feeling cold🤔

But then, the unexpected hero in Kunle emerged to help a classy lady like me who was hard to break back then. Can you imagine? He was grinning ear to ear, making jokes about my tragic wardrobe disappointment, and somehow, the embarrassment melted away because both of us turned the whole saga into a thing of laughter. He led me to a nearby shop, still chuckling, where he bought me another pair of trousers. Hmm, what a true gentleman!

And can I just say, thank goodness I listened to my inner spirit that day? I usually avoid wearing panties to keep the panty lines from showing, but something told me to put them on this time. God really was looking out for me because let me tell you, the last thing I wanted was to be a mess at the sight of many people I would have come acrossed that day from the street to the bus and so on because the cut was just too visible. What a day!

In the end, what could have been a disaster turned into a hilarious night filled with laughter and unexpected memories? Who knew that my crush would also be a trouser savior? Seriously, it has become a story to laugh at every time we get to talk🤣
