A game at heart. Week 9

About my favorite game

My favorite game is Scrabble.
What is Scrabble?
Scrabble is the iconic board game played by two or more people, it can be played on a board, on a mobile phone when downloaded, or on a computer. Scrabble has been a cornerstone of my cognitive development and linguistic journey. My early years were spent immersed in the world of words, courtesy of Scrabble. This beloved game not only taught me the art of word formation but also laid the foundation for my grasp of grammar and critical thinking.

As I carefully placed tiles on the board, I began to understand the intricacies of language. I learned to recognize patterns, prefixes, and suffixes, which helped me decipher unfamiliar words. Scrabble transformed me into a voracious learner, eager to expand my vocabulary and comprehension.

Why do I like this particular game?

This game's unique design encouraged me to think strategically, making connections between seemingly unrelated words. The skills I got from Scrabble have benefited me in various aspects of my life, ranging from problem-solving to effective communication. Scrabble instilled in me a passion for language and to appreciate the nuances of the English language.

Through countless playing of this game, I developed a keen sense of grammar, syntax, and semantics. I became more addicted to constructing sentences, identifying parts of speech, and articulating my thoughts with clarity. Scrabble is more than just a game to me, it was/is a catalyst for my cognitive growth and linguistic proficiency.

Good things about Scrabble

Scrabble is not just a game but a game that fosters critical thinking and analytical skills. I learned to evaluate words from multiple perspectives, considering their meanings, contexts, and potential uses. This ability to think critically has proven invaluable in various aspects of my life, from academics to professional pursuits.

Scrabble has been a transformative force in my life, shaping my relationship with language and influencing my cognitive development. It has taught me valuable skills that extend far beyond the game itself, instilling in me a lifelong love of learning and a deep reasoning of word formation.

Scrabble is a game am proud to instill in my children as they grow. My children play Scrabble like a PRO and it's helping them with their English language, grammar, and vocabulary words. Seeing them bringing out words from Scrabble and shouting, is there a word like this and how they quickly used their dictionary to decipher some words gave me joy. I chose the best game for them👍

What I would like the game to improve on

  • They can improve on the meaning and definitions of words, show us the origin associated, the use examples of words to enhance learning skills.

  • Also, they need to improve on word formations to accept more nuanced language uses like idioms, prefixes, suffixes, syntax, and semantics.

  • They can also work on introducing new game modes of variation like team play, time attacks, and challenges to refresh the gameplay experience.
