Water is the true spark of life.

Hello Hivians. How are you spending this last week of January? Yesterday I made a post that I found fun about chemistry and I used water as an example because it is something we are all familiar with. I liked the experience of writing about basic chemistry and I will surely do more articles about these curiosities. But that made me think about the importance of water and whether we are really aware of it.

Water is the true spark of life, without water there would be no life on the planet. We can see that when a space mission is sent this is one of the first elements that are searched for on a planet that is habitable. In fact, basically only three things are needed for a planet to be habitable. A stable atmosphere, solid surface and water.

I live in an area with a Mediterranean climate where the sun is omnipresent and a pleasure for those of us who live here. But that means that water is scarce and sometimes there are periods of drought that can make life more difficult. So there are systems to conserve water as much as possible and awareness of its usefulness is maximum. Not a drop is wasted.
That is something that we all have to keep in mind because although 70% of the planet is water, only between 5% and 6% is fresh water that we can use.
