The importance of shade in the garden

If you live in an arid climate and have a vegetable garden, you will know the problems that the sun can cause in summer for vegetables. That is why creating shade is essential if you want to harvest good fruit.
Traditionally, vegetable gardens are created in valley areas or near streams that are naturally only exposed to the sun for half the day. In this way, and with plenty of water, the sun is not a problem.

But we cannot always choose a perfect place for our vegetable garden, so if you have land that is always exposed to sunlight, you must look for solutions.
There are many and the important thing is to adapt them to our needs. For example, shading nets can be very useful in places where the midday sun is very strong and to protect medium-sized crops. There are also removable sails, those typical ones that are placed as an awning on houses. These help to give a soft shade that lowers the temperature a few degrees but allows the light to pass through. They are indicated for large crops or for general shade.
There are also windbreaks that provide little shade but can be very useful against dry winds that are sometimes even more harmful than the sun or temperatures.

All these solutions will help us save water and improve the growth of our vegetables. Plants only grow in a range of temperatures, which is why it is so important to have these solutions to maintain thermal balance.

Thank you very much for supporting my blog and I look forward to your comments.!
