Divorce Bill: His POV

Good day, Hiveans! Especially the people who are part of the Filipino Community #hiveph. I was tagged by ma’am @diamondisthesky for joining the June blogging contest. As a member of the community, I think it would be nice to participate as a way of my support. This is also my way of reciprocating the support I gain here in the community. I know it’s not compulsory and mandatory but as my workstation always said, “Not compulsory but no excuses”. I apply these words in every task I do in my workstation and try to use them here on the platform.

I’m not good at expounding words. I usually answered directly to the point that I’m not good at explaining. Out of the three good questions offered, I think I can relate to the first question: “Andaming pabago bago ng DepEd sa schoolyear. Kung may option kang pumili, Ano ang mas gugustuhin mo: Bakasyon ng June o May pasok ng June?”. But I don’t have a plan to share my thoughts because I wanted to play it safe, because I knew my opinion would be broadcast on the internet and it could reach the administration. This could lead to stress. Hahaha

The third question: June ang kadalasang gustong buwan ng pagpapakasal ng mga kababaihan. Ano ang masasabi mong ideal wedding? I wanted to get married in June, but circumstances didn’t let me and got married in September. I wanted to have a private wedding too, for me it’s my ideal one, but our parents did not accept our plan the result our wedding was like a town fiesta where lots of guests were around, no complaints about it since it’s already done. We may have good plans but someone above us has a better plan. No ideal wedding for me. Bitter.

The second question: Divorce Bill.
If I were the one to answer the questions, it would be a bias since as of this moment, I have no complaints about our marriage. While traveling to Bogo City I asked my husband about his opinion on Divorce Bill. Because it is his task to worry about the big problems, and mine would be the small ones. His answer was YES to the Divorce Bill. He explains: Anthony Taberna was right. If your marriage is great there is no need for divorce, but the Divorce bill is for someone who’s been in a bad marriage. He added that as of this time, there is no Divorce bill in our country but annulment which is costly and it takes longer to be approved. A divorce bill is good when anchored with rules and regulations that it would not be abused. He ended his answer using his learning from our professor in college which I don’t listen to this professor. Divorce is when you know that you have experienced marriage and didn’t go well but annulment means your marriage is void in the first place.

His answers have a point too. I would rather experience a marriage and learn from it than realize that your marriage is null and void in the first place.

We have different points of view. Some accept it others will not. It will always be your choice on which things to believe since this is just an opinion.

What about you @ and ma’am @iamfarmgirl?

Thank you for reading.

I am smiling Ma'am @fixyetbroken while reading your blog. Particularly on the part of dealing the big and small problem hehe.
Big problem for your husband, while yours is the small one. You're both blessed to have each other Ma'am and it is good to know that you have a healthy marriage.

I might still be young but I am also in favor of Divorce Bill. It’s just very simple, but others are making it complicated. If you are in a happy and healthy marriage, then of course, there is no need for you to have a divorce. But for for those people who ended up in a bad, unhappy, and unhealthy marriage, then they have a choice to file for divorce. It is also a way of giving others a chance to get out of an abusive relationship.

Many of us would want this bill to be signed by the President to let those abused men or women avail themselves of the freedom they were seeking. It's really true that once it is signed into law, it doesn't mean everyone needs to access it. For me, I can still advise a family to be reunited because what was bonded by God should only be separated by God, but the final say would be theirs. Well, all of us will face the consequences of our chosen actions. Just like choosing a partner, nowadays many of us, especially the teen ones, decide to settle at an early age. Within the 5 years of living together, they will see the true color of their partners, which may lead to abusive behavior. My point is that we were given knowledge through the guidance of wisdom to think and decide on our own. Our free will might lead us to either salvation or destruction. But I know the creator understands our situation beyond our own understanding. As long as the divorce bill, soon to be a law, is not abused and will only be used according to the tormented situation of a person, go. Let them end the pain and experience being loved and cared for.
