Splinterlands Art Contest Week 280 - REXXIE HANDMADE SCULPTURE [ENG-ESP]

Hello dear friends, I hope you are well, it's almost the end of the week, on this occasion I want to share with you a sculpture that I made for the weekly Splinterlands contest, this time it is the REXXIE card, a very ferocious tyrannosaurus and powerful. I have made the following sculpture using aluminum from cans as my favorite material, joining all its pieces with instant glue, I will teach you the process step by step, I hope you like it.

Hola queridos amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, ya casi fin de semana, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes una escultura que hice para el concurso semanal de Splinterlands, en esta oportunidad se trata de la carta REXXIE, un tiranosaurio muy feroz y poderoso. La siguiente escultura la he realizado utilizando como material predilecto el aluminio de las latas unidas todas sus piezas con pegamento instantáneo, el proceso se los enseñaré paso a paso, espero que les guste.

I drew some templates on paper to later cut out, at first I wanted to make another creature, but I remembered this card and thought it would be a better idea. I also thought about making just the head in a slightly larger size to have it as an ornament, but then I thought that it would look better as a full body even if it was difficult for me to make some parts. For this sculpture I used a total of 10 beer cans, there were some sheets that I had to join together because some drawings of the pieces were too big for me, and they far exceeded a single can. So I was forced to make additions so that the pieces wouldn't turn out wrong.

Dibujé unas plantillas sobre papel para luego recortar, en un inicio quería hacer otra criatura, pero recordé esta carta y pensé que sería una mejor idea. También pensé en hacer solo la cabeza en un tamaño un poco más grande para tenerla de adorno, pero luego pensé que si se vería mejor de cuerpo completo aunque me costara trabajo realizar algunas partes. Para esta escultura utilicé un total de 10 latas de cervezas, hubo algunas láminas que tuve que unirlas unas con otras porque algunos dibujos de las piezas me habían quedado muy grande, y sobrepasaban por mucho a una sola lata. Así que me vi en la obligación de hacer añadiduras para que no salieran mal las piezas.

And speaking of difficult pieces, I started with what I consider the most important and complicated, the template for the head, since it had some areas with curvatures that are complicated to make in the can, but not so with paper. So with a lot of patience I cut it and modeled it with a small clamp. Once I had the head modeled I began to glue each part with contact glue, until it was completely shaped.

Y hablando de piezas difíciles comencé con la que considero la más importante y complicada, la plantilla para la cabeza, ya que tenía algunas zonas con curvaturas que en la lata son complicados de hacer, no así con el papel. Así que con mucha paciencia la corté y la fui modelando con una pinza pequeña, al tener modelada la cabeza comencé a pegar cada parte con pegamento de contacto, hasta darle forma por completo.

Next I start with the easiest pieces to cut and fold, this time I'm going with the neck, chest and arms, although there are several things, all of these come in a single piece that is folded and shaped. Once finished, I glue it together with the head at both ends. What serves as a guide is the direction of the arms, which point forward, towards the mouth.

Seguidamente comienzo con las piezas más fáciles de cortar y doblar, en esta oportunidad voy con parte del cuello el pecho y los brazos, aunque son varias cosas, todas estas vienen en una sola pieza que se dobla y se le da forma. Una vez terminada la pego junto con la cabeza en ambos extremos, lo que me sirve como guía es la dirección de los brazos, que apuntan hacia adelante, hacia la boca.

Continuing with the order, I make what would be the majority of the body, that is, the torso, from here you can attach the arms, the legs and finally the tail. This is the largest piece of all and required the joining of two sheets of aluminum so that it came out complete and could be folded.

Continuando con el orden, hago lo que sería la mayor parte del cuerpo, es decir, el torso, de aquí se podrá unir los brazos, las piernas piernas y por último la cola. Esta es la pieza más grande de todas y requirió la unión de dos láminas de aluminio para que saliera completa y pudiera doblarse.

Then I begin to cut the templates for both legs, just like what happened with the head, it was not easy to fold these pieces since due to the characteristics of the legs of this creature, it had many curved lines that are very difficult to do in a can. . In order to achieve this it is necessary to draw the lines on the can and then with a pen make strokes and sink the aluminum, the tip of the pen is the best tool to shape the aluminum. This is also how I make each of the feet which I then attach to each leg. Seeing each foot as it turned out, it is not difficult to think of the idea that evolutionary dinosaurs became the typical chickens hehehe

Luego comienzo a cortar las plantillas para ambas piernas, al igual que ocurrió con la cabeza, no fue facil doblar estas piezas ya que por las características que tienen las piernas de esta criatura, poseía muchas líneas curvas que en una lata es muy díficil de hacer. Para poder lograr esto es necesario trazar las líneas sobre la lata y luego con un boligrafo hacerlos trazos y hundir, el aluminio, la punta del bolígrafo es la mejor herramienta para moldear el aluminio. Así también hago cada uno de los pies los cuales luego los uno a cada pierna. Al ver cada pie como quedó, no es difícil pensar la idea de que los dinosaurios evolucionarios se convirtieron en las atucales gallinas jejeje

To finish, I made the tail, also for this piece due to its length, I joined two aluminum cans to make a larger sheet, glued the template, cut it out with scissors and molded it until it joined together. Once finished, I placed it along with the rest of the piece that corresponded to it and thus the sculpture of REXXIE was finished.

Para finalizar hice la cola, también para esta pieza por su longitud, uní dos latas de aluminio para hacer una lámina más grande, pegué la plantilla, la recorté con tijeras y la fuí moldeando hasta unirla entre si. Una vez terminada la coloqué junto al resto de la pieza que le correspondía y así quedó terminada la escultura de REXXIE

This is how my sculpture was finished, when I was drawing the pieces and I saw the size of each one I thought that it would be a little small, but it was not like that, when I folded it each one seemed to grow in size reaching a different size than what I had imagined. . I really liked the result, I have made some creatures for the contest that I really liked, always beasts, but when they are humanized I have not dared to make one, I hope to be able to make some sculpture very soon to see how it turns out. For now this has been all, I am pleased to have participated this week, since I had not done so for a long time, I think more than a month. Greetings to everyone!

Así es como quedó finalizada mi escultura, cuando estaba dibujando las piezas y veía el tamaño de cada una pensé que me quedaría algo pequeña, pero no fue así, al doblarla cada pareciera que creciera en tamaño alcanzado un tamaño diferente a lo que me hubiera imaginado. Me gustó mucho el resultado, he realizado algunas criaturas para el concurso que me han gustado mucho, siempre en bestias, pero cuando son humanizados no me he atrevido a hacer una, espero poder hacer alguna esucltura muy pronto a ver que tal me sale. Por ahora esto ha sido todo, me complace haber participado esta semana, ya que tenía mucho tiempo sin hacerlo, creo que más de un mes. Sa ludos para todos!
