Hello dear friends of HiveDiy, I hope you're all doing well. Today I want to share with you a piece of work I made on commission. Someone asked me for a Pokeball-shaped keychain. They were originally asked to make a Pikachu, and to complete the keychain set, they asked me to make the Pokeball. I want to share with you how I made this keychain, step by step, so anyone else might be encouraged to try it. Let's get started!

Hola queridos amigos de HiveDiy espero que se encuentren muy bien, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un trabajo que hice por encargo, me fue pedido un llavero con la forma de una pokebola por una persona que se interesó por mi trabajo, ya que en primer lugar me había pedido un Píkachu, y para completar el juego de llaveros me dijo que hiciera la Pokebola. Quiero compartir como hice este llavero paso a paso con ustedes, así cualquier otra persona podría animarse a hacerlo. comencemos!

PROCESS

First of all, for those who don't know anything about the Pokémon universe, a Poké Ball is a spherical device used in the Pokémon universe to capture and store creatures called Pokémon. The main function of a Poké Ball is to allow trainers to capture wild Pokémon to add to their team. It also serves to safely transport and store Pokémon. So, I then got to work by cutting a piece of wood about 4 centimeters long from a larger piece of wood I had, and on one side, I drew a circle that would serve as a guide as I gradually shaped it.

Antes que nada, para aquellos que no saben o conocen algo acerca del universo Pokemón, les comento que una Pokébola es un dispositivo esférico utilizado en el universo de Pokémon para capturar y almacenar criaturas llamadas Pokémon. La función principal de una Pokébola es permitir a los entrenadores capturar Pokémon salvajes para añadirlos a su equipo. También sirve para transportar y almacenar los Pokémon de forma segura. Así que luego puse manos a la obra cortando un trozo de madera de unos 4 centímetros de una madera más grande que tenía, y en una de sus lados dibujé un círculo que me serviría de guía para ir dando forma poco a poco.

The first step is to give it a circular shape, something I hadn't done before with a piece, at least not completely. So, with the cutter, I began to give the first shapes to the carving, guided by the circle I had initially drawn. The initial process involved gradually removing the points of the square and then moving toward the front faces of the piece. It's a long and careful process.

El primer paso es darle forma circular, algo que no había hecho antes con una pieza, al menos no de forma completa. Así que con el cúter comencé a dar las primeras formas al tallado, guiándome por el círculo que había dibujado al principio. El proceso inicial fue ir retirando poco a poco las puntas del cuadrado y luego ir hacia las caras frontales de la pieza, es un proceso largo y cuidadoso.

As I mentioned earlier, the process of shaping the piece into a circle is a bit slow, since, as much as you might want to, it's difficult to shape it into a sphere. You always have to be on the lookout for any edges that are out of place and use the knife to trim away any excess wood. But here you can see the sphere emerging.

Como mencioné anteriormente, el proceso de dar forma circular a la pieza es un poco lento, ya que por más que pueda desearlo, es dificil darle una forma de esfera y siempre que estar al pendiente si algún lado está fuera de lugar para ir quitando con la cuchilla la madera que sobra. Pero aquí pueden ver que va apareciendo la esfera.

After shaping it as much as I could with the knife, I felt I needed to move on to another tool, in this case, sandpaper. Using sandpaper, I began to shape and give the sphere a more polished finish. The process was a little easier but just as long.

Luego de darle toda la forma que pude a través de la navaja, sentí que ya debía pasar a otra clase de herramienta, en este caso a una lija. Con papel de lija comencé a dar forma y un acabado más pulido a la esfera, fue un poco más fácil el proceso pero igual de largo.

In the next step, I began carving a line that divides the Pokeball. I think I made it a bit too big for the size of the sphere. I also carefully carved the button that activates the Pokeball's opening mechanism, which is used to release the Pokémon or put it back.

En el siguiente paso comencé a tallar una línea que divide la pokebola, creo que la hice un poco grande para el tamaño de la esfera. También hice de forma muy cuidadosa el boton que activa el mecanismo de apertura de la pokebola, que sirve para sacar al pokemón o volver a guardarlo.

The last step before finishing was to apply the paint that identifies the Pokeball, in this case red and white with a black center line. Of course, I added the keychain chain as a final touch, and that's it.

El último paso antes de finalizar fue colocar la pintura que identifica a la pokebola en este caso rojo y blanco con la línea del centro de color negro. Por supuesto agregué como detalle final la cadena para el llavero, y así quedó finalizado.

FINAL WORK

What do you think of the result? When the paint is completely dry, I'll apply clear varnish to better protect and preserve the wood and paint, and it will also look shinier. The probability of successful capture varies depending on the type of Poké Ball and the strength of the wild Pokémon, so each Pokémon Master should know how to best use it to achieve the best results. Qué les ha parecido el resultado? cuando la pintura este bien seca le pondré barníz transparente para que proteja y conserve mejor la madera y la píntura, además de que se vería más brillante. La probabilidad de éxito de la captura varía dependiendo del tipo de Pokébola y de la fuerza del Pokémon salvaje, de manera que cada maestro Pokémon debe saber cual es la mejor forma de usarla para lograr los mejores resultados.
