Hello dear ones, I hope everyone is feeling very well, I want to share with you a sculpture that has been carved out of wood by me, I have taken the figure of the character Wrackoo to make it out of this piece of wood until it turns it into a beautiful sculpture. I worked on it for around 48 hours, I only used wood, varnish knives and paint, the process was very fun and full of learning, little by little I am acquiring more skills and abilities in this fine art. Here I share with you a brief step-by-step explanation of how it was done, I hope you like it, let's get started!

Hola queridos espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, quiero compartir con ustedes una escultura que ha sido tallada en madera por mi, he tomado la figura del personaje Wrackoo para hacerla en este trozo de madera hasta convertirlo en una bella escultura. Trabajé en ella alrededor de 48 horas, solo he utilizado madera, navajas barniz y pintura, el proceso fue muy divertido y lleno de aprendizaje, poco a poco voy adquiriendo más habilidades y destrezas en este fino arte. Aquí comparto con ustedes una breve explicación paso a paso de como fue realizado, espero les guste, comencemos!

I cut a piece of wood that measures 11 centimeters by 6 centimeters on each side, on one of its faces I made the silhouette of Wrackoo with a simple chibi-style drawing, since I wanted the final result to look very cute. To carve I used a stationery cutter.

Corte un trozo de madera que mide 11 centímetros por 6 centímetros de cada lado, sobre una de sus caras hice la silueta de Wrackoo con un sencillo dibujo estilo chibi, ya que quería que el resultado final se viera muy tierno. Para tallar he usado un cúter de papelería.

I begin to carve the wood from the drawing made, little by little with the knife I take out the wood until I have a 2D figure, from here all that remains is to get the shape of the ears, which takes a little more work because you have to remove a wooden painting, which is not easy. With a saw I make two cuts and this way it is easier to shape it.

Comienzo a tallar la madera a partir del dibujo realizado, poco a poco con la navaja voy sacando la madera hasta que quede una figura en 2D, a partir de aquí solo resta sacar la forma de las orejas, lo cual lleva un poco más de trabajo porque hay que sacar un cuadro de madera que no es fácil. Con una sierra hago dos cortes y así es más fácil darle forma.

The next step is to draw Wrackoo in profile, following the same measurement of the previous drawing, once the silhouette is made, I begin to carve what would be the part of the ears, I start from here because it is the way I have to guide myself to go through the rest of the body, where I then shape the head and begin to remove parts of the face.

El siguiente paso es dibujar a Wrackoo e perfil, siguiendo la misma medida del dibujo anterior, una vez realizado la silueta, comienzo a tallar lo que sería la parte de las orejas, comienzo desde aquí porque es la forma que tengo de guiarme para ir por el resto del cuerpo, donde luego le doy forma a la cabeza y comienzo a sacar partes del rostro.

Next I begin to shape Wrackoo in 3D, taking out his limbs and giving a final shape to the face. In order for the sculpture to look chibi-style, it was necessary to make it wider than it was tall, so it looks like Wrakcoo only ate Burger King hamburgers hahaha

Seguidamente comienzo a darle forma Wrackoo en 3D, voy sacando sus extremidades y dándole una forma final al rostro. Para que la escultura me quedara estilo chibi fue necesaria hacerla más ancha que alta, por lo que parece que Wrakcoo solo comiera hamburguesas de Burger King jajaja

In the next step I begin to sand and polish the entire figure until the surface is shiny and clean, after that I give it a bath of varnish so that the wood is well protected. Finally, with some acrylic paint I paint Wrackoo's face in a different way until he comes out chibi style.

En el siguiente paso comienzo a lijar y a pulir toda la figura hasta que la superficie quede brillante y limpia, luego de eso le doy un baño de barníz para que la madera quede bien protegida. Por último, con algo de pintura acrílica pinto el rostro de Wrackoo de una manera diferente hasta que salga ene stilo chibi.

What did you think of the final result? I am very happy to have achieved the result I expected, I only drew the face and did not paint the entire figure because I wanted the color of the wood to be seen, I think that highlights more the manual work done, the original color of the wood . Qué les ha parecido el resultado final? me siento muy contento de haber logrado el resultado que esperaba, solo dibujé el rostro y no pinté toda la figura completa porque quería que se viera el color de la madera, creo que eso resalta más el trabajo manual realizado, el color original de la madera. sin duda me divertí mucho y siento que avanzo más, aprendiendo poco a poco a mejorar mis habilidades, espero haya sido de su agrado, no olviden comentar que les ha parecido.
