Holozing Fan Art - MIU Keychain Carving in Wood [ENG-ESP]

Hello Holozing friends, I have recently unlocked a new achievement in wood carving, learning to make sculptures a little more successfully, in this case I have already learned how to shape the eyes and not simply tearing the wood. To illustrate this process I have chosen my favorite creature, MIU, who has a great resemblance to a very famous Pokémon whose name I will reserve, and if you can look closely at the sculpture you will be able to notice that it has a certain resemblance. I have made this keychain with great love and here I show you a brief step-by-step explanation of how I made it, I hope you like it.

Hola amigos de Holozing, recientemente he desbloqueado un nuevo logro en el tallado de madera, aprendiendo a realizar esculturas un poco más logras, en este caso ya he aprendido ha como darle forma a los ojos y no simplemente rasgando la madera. Para ilustrar este proceso he elegido a mi criatura favorita, MIU, quien tiene un gran parecido con un pokemon muy famoso el cual me reservo el nombre, y si pueden observar detenidamente la escultura podrán notar que tiene cierto parecido. He realizado este llavero con mucho cariño y aquí les muestro una explicación breve paso a paso de como la hice, espero que les guste.

I cut a piece of cedar wood, very good for making sculptures and for carving with blades, the piece measured 6 centimeters, on top of it, on the cleanest side I began to draw Miu's silhouette and to carve I used a stationery cutter.

Corté un trozo de madera de cedro, muy buena para hacer esculturas y para tallar con cuchillas, el trozo medía 6 centímetros, encima de él, por la cara más limpia comencé a dibujar la silueta de Miu y para tallar utilicé un cúter de papelería.

Once the drawing step was completed on top of the wood, I began to carve on the sides, only leaving the front part without carving yet, little by little I removed the wood, giving it shape with the drawn line. I did this on both sides of the figure, so I also cut the space between his ears to shape his head and in the lower part I also removed everything necessary to shape his legs.

Una vez realizado el paso del dibujo encima de la madera comencé a tallar por los costados, solo dejando la parte frontal sin tallar aún, poco a poco fui quitando la madera dándole forma con el trazo dibujado. Esto lo hice en ambos lados de la figura, así también corte el espacio entre sus orejas para darle forma a su cabeza y en la parte inferior también fui retirando todo lo necesario para ir dándole forma a sus patitas.

Then I made Miu's silhouette but on the opposite side, that is, on the side that I had already carved, this way I can shape her ears, her legs and give her that balloon shape that Miu's body has. As you can see, with the knife, little by little I shape it, in some parts the wood becomes somewhat hard but then I reach the softest part.

Luego hice la silueta de Miu pero en el lado contrario, es decir, por la parte que ya había tallado, de esta manera puedo darle forma a sus orejas, sus patitas y darle esa forma de globo que tiene el cuerpo de Miu. Como pueden ver, con la navaja, poco a poco voy dándole forma, en algunas partes la madera se torna algo dura pero ya luego llego a la parte más suave.

The next step was to shape the face, here I did it with more care and patience, since I made his locks that cover his eyes and give him that attitude, his huge adorable eyes and his small nose, until this moment the result was just the what I expected.

El siguiente paso fue darle forma al rostro, aquí lo hice con más detenimiento y paciencia, ya que hice su mechón que cobre sus ojos y le da esa actitud, sus enormes ojos adorables y su pequeña nariz, hasta este momento el resultado era justo el que esperaba.

After giving it shape, I only had to polish the entire piece using sandpaper, I removed all the parts that were out of place and gave it the best possible shape. Another detail was to make piercings in his ears so that he looked a little more attached to the original design. Once this was finished I gave it a bath of transparent varnish and after drying I began to paint some parts, especially its eyes, and that's how it was finished.

Luego de darle forma solo me quedaba pulir toda la pieza utilizando papel de lija, fui quitando todas las partes que desencajaban y le di la mejor forma posible. Otros detalle fue hacer perforaciones en sus orejas para que se viera un poco más apegado al diseño original. Una vez terminado esto le di un baño de barniz transparente y luego de secar comencé a pintar algunas partes, especialmente sus ojos, y así quedó finalizado.

How did you like the result? I think it turned out very tender, as I reduced the size of the wood while I was doing the carving, the figure became heavy, I think it has the same weight as a golf ball and it turned out to be a good size that can be used to love many things, by adding the chain for the keychain I liked the result much more. I have been able to see that new creatures are coming out, I hope that I can also make them soon in a fan art, either by drawing or in a wooden sculpture, for now I say goodbye and I will see you soon.

Como le sha parecido el reusltado? yo creo que ha quedaod muy tierno, al ir reduciendo el tamaño de la madera mientras iba haciendo el tallado, la figura se iba haciendo pesada, creo que tiene el mismo peso de una pelota de golf y quedó de un buen tamaño que se puede utilizar para adorar muchas cosas, al agregar la cadena para el llavero me gustó mucho más el resultado. He podido ver que nuevas criaturas estan saliendo, espero que también a ellas las pueda hacer pronto en un fan art, ya sea dibujando o en una escultura de madera, por ahora me despido y será hasta pronto..
