Hello dear friends, I hope you are very well, this time I want to share with you a painting that I made of a very beautiful bird, it is a Cardinal, this bird has plumage that stands out a lot in nature, and it is a very beautiful bird. precious and particularly for me, since the baseball team of my city has the Cardinal as its emblem. This painting is done on an old wood that I found, which I fixed by cleaning, sanding, polishing and varnishing it to make it look great. Hope you like.

Hola queridos amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes una pintura que hice de una ave muy hermosa, se trata de un Cardenal, esta ave tiene un plumaje que resalta mucho en la naturaleza, e sun ave muy preciada y particularmente para mi, ya que el equipo de beisbol de mi ciudad tiene al Cardenal como emblema. Esta pintura está hecha sobre una madera vieja que encontré, la cual arreglé limpiandola, lijándola, puliendola y echándole barníz para que quedara muy bien. Espero que les guste.

I found this board in a garbage can, it seemed to me that it had a very beautiful cut, I think it was part of some piece of furniture. I took it out of there and cleaned it completely, then with sandpaper I removed all the bumps it had until leaving it very clean, enough to put some layers of wood varnish on it. I used my new brushes and some paints that he has very little left.

Encontre esta tabla en un basurero, me pareció que tenía un corte muy hermoso, pienso que formó parte de algún muebloe. La saqué de ahí y la limpie por completo, despues con una lija le quité todos los golpes que tenía hasta dejarla muy limpia, lo suficiente como para ponerle algunas capaz de barniz para madera. Utilicé mis pinceles nuevos y algunas pinturas que ya le queda muy poco.

With a pencil I made the sketch of the bird in an easy way, only lines to guide me, then I took a shade of red and another of orange and made a mixture for the first layer of colors. Here I started with the head and there I went to the rest of the body, I used a flattened brush that is one of the best for creating the effect of feathers.

Con un lápiz hice el boceto del pájaro de manera facil, solo rayas para guiarme, luego tomé un tono de color rojo y otro de color naranja e hice una mezcla para la primera capa de colores. Aquí comencé por la cabeza y ahí pase a todo el resto del cuerpo, utilicé un pincel aplanado que es de los mejores para hacer el efecto de plumas.

Then I finish painting the rest of the body including the tail feathers. Now to the previous mixture I add a bit of ocher yellow, this is to lighten the tone a bit and thus add parts of the feathers that look brighter, starting with the head and its small crown, also on the chest and so on. also for the main feathers, making that contrast.

Despúes termino de pintar el resto del cuerpo incluyéndo las plumas de las colas. Ahora a la mezcla anterior le agrego un poco de amarillo ocre, esto es pára aclarar un poco el tono y así echar en partes que se ven mas iluminas de las plumas, comienzo por la cabeza y su pequeña corona, tambíen por el pecho y así también por las plumas principales, haciendo ese contraste.

Then with the black paint I begin to give the cardinal more shape, since these birds have a black spot on their eyes and near their beak. So with a fine and soft brush I begin to paint all that area at the same time that I then outline the eyes to try to make them very realistic. In the same way I am outlining the main feathers to give them shadows and thus make that contrast, but not before lightening with the white color.

Seguidamente con la pintura de color negro comienzo a darle más forma al cardenal, ya que estas aves ttienen una mancha negra en los ojos y cerca del pico. Así con pincel fino y suave comienzo a pintar toda esa zona al mismo tiempo que voy luego delineando los ojos para tratar de hacerlos bien realista. De la misma forma voy delineando las plumas pinciplaes para darle sombras y así hacer ese contraste, no sin antes ir aclarando con el color blanco.

Finally, I also shaped the tail feathers, making a high contrast between light and shadow at the same time that I added different tones, since this bird when the light illuminates its feathers tend to give somewhat green tones. After that I painted the limbs and a small branch on which the bird is perched, in this way the painting was finished.

Por último también le di forma a las plumas de la cola, haciendo un alto contraste entre luces y sombra al mismo tiempo que agregaba tonos diferentes, ya que este pájaro cuando cuando la luz ilumina sus plumas estas suelen dar tonos algo verdes. Después de eso pinté las extremidades y una pequeña rama sobre la cual el ave está posada, de esta forma quedó terminado la pintura.

In this way the painting of the Cardinal was finished, it was a very fun job, in addition to the fact that using a material that was already discarded made it look better, I do not like to waste things so quickly, we can always give it a second chance. This has been all for now, it was a pleasure to be able to share my art with you, I say goodbye until a new opportunity.

De esta manera quedó finalizado la pintura del Cardenal, fue un trabajo muy divertido, ademas de que el usar un material que ya estaba desecho hizo que quedara mejor, no me gusta desperdiciar las cosas tan rápido, siempre podemos darle una segunda oportunidad. Esto ha sido todo por ahora, fue un placer poder compartir mi arte con ustedes, me despido hasta una nueva oportunidad.
