SPLINTERLANDS ART CONTEST 296 -POSEIDON FANART DRWING GREEK STYLE [ENG-ES]
Hello friends, how are you? I hope everyone is well, I want to share with you, here in the community, my contribution to the 296 Splinterlands contest. On this occasion I am going to participate with a fanart illustration of the card Poseidon, the fearsome god of the 7 seas, lord of the ocean, I have done it with a mixed technique between colored pencils and acrylic paint, my purpose was to make an illustration where Poseidon look like an ancient Greek style statue, for this I used white colors on a dark background. Mo was easy but I think it turned out well.
Hola amigos que tal estan? Espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, quierom compartir con ustedes, aqui en la comunidad mi aporte para el concurso 296 de Splinterlands. En esta oportunidad voy a participar con una ilustración fanart de la carta Poseidón, el temible dios de los 7 mares, señor del océano, lo he realizado con una técnica mixta entre lápices de colores y pintura acrílica, mi propósito fue hacer una ilustración donde Poseidón luzca como una estatua de estilo griego antiguo, para ello utilicé colores blancos en un fondo oscuro. Mo fue fácil pero creo que me salio bien.

I started with the sketch, this time I made it as simple as possible because I didn't want to constantly erase the guide lines, when I draw on black paper that sometimes spoils the surface and then it is very difficult to apply any kind of color, even unless it's paint.
Comencé con el boceto, en esta oportunidad lo hice lo más simple posible porque no quería estar borrando a cada rato las líneas guías, cuando dibujo en papel negro eso a veces estropea la superficie y ya luego es muy difícil aplicar cualquier clase de color, a menos que sea pintura

Little by little I filled in the sketch with white wax pencil, while I also shaped it. There is a difference between the wax pencil and the white charcoal, and that is that the wax pencil does not mark as much on the black cardboard, so I always use it for the first layers, since later with the charcoal I am in charge of giving it volume and effect to the illustration.
Poco a poco fui rellenando el boceto con lápiz de cera color blanco, mientras que también le iba dando forma. Hay una diferencia entre el lápiz de cera y el carboncillo blanco, y es que el lápiz de cera no se marca tanto en la cartulina negra, por lo que siempre lo uso para las primeras capas, ya que luego con el carboncillo me encargo de darle volumen y efecto a la ilustración.

In the next step I used the white charcoal color, and you can notice how little by little the difference between both materials is noticeable. Here I am giving more depth to the drawing in contrast to the base I used at the beginning, my goal of making it look like a statue is gradually taking shape.
En el siguiente paso si utlilicé el color carboncillo blanco, y puedne notar como poco a poco se va notando la diferencia entre ambos materiales. Aquí le voy dando más profundidad al dibujo en contraste con la base que utilicé al principio mi objetivo de que luzca como una estatua poco a poco va tomando forma.

Finally I apply white acrylic paint with a paintbrush, luckily this catulina supports and absorbs the humidity of the paint very well. My intention with this step is to further accentuate the volume of the drawing and make it look like a fine sculpture carved in stone.
Por último aplico pintura acrílica color blanco con un pince, por suerte esta catulina soporta y absorve muy bien la humedad de la pintura. mi intención con este paso es acentuar más el volumen del dibujo y que parezca una fina escultura tallada en piedra.
This is how my drawing of the imposing god Poseidon turned out, a true Greek sculpture from the classical era. To make this design I saw many statues and I confess that they were all difficult. The last thing that occurred to me was to take a reference from the great actor Charlton Hestons when he played Moses in the 10 Commandments, that's why at first I think he looked a little alike, hehe, but I liked how his face looked with white hair, he looked like a real prophet. Así quedó mi dibujo del imponente dios Poseidón, toda una escultura griega de la época clásica, para hacer este diseño vi muchas estatuas y confieso que tods eran difíciles, lo último que se me ocurrió fue tomar una referencia del gran actor Charlton Hestons cuando hizo de Moisés en los 10 Mandamientos, por eso al principio creo que se parecía un poco, jejeje pero me gustó como se veía su rostro con el cabello blanco, parecía un verdadero profeta. Esto ha sido todo en esta oportunida,d espero volver la próxima semana con ideas nuevas. No olviden ver el video hasta el final y comentar que les ha parecido, me despido hasta pronto!

Amigo, excelente diseño, muy bueno el resultado, luce bastante genial.
Wow, quedó espectacular, te felicito, haber elegido hacerlo en fondo negro con blanco fue muy acertado, le da ese toque clásico y lo hace lucir más poderoso, me encantó, en especial su cabello jejeje, oh sí, lo amé 😻.
