The Overly Sweet Lychee Tea Without Lychee From Es.Teh

Yesterday, me and my husband went to a late evening movie date. We planned to watch a horror movie in the cinema. The movie started at 8.30 pm. We went to the mall after dinner so we’re plenty full and we cant eat anymore in the mall. We went to the mall around 7 pm so we have plenty of time to waiting for the movie to start. We decided to look around for some place to sit and drink while waiting for our movie to be played. After looking around the whole mall, we didnt see anything piqued our interest. The mall was so small that they dont have many choices for us in there. We were almost give up and then we saw this newly opened shop just right beside the cinema. This is the famous Es Teh. The brand itself is not new but its popular with teenagers because of their affordable price. Before Mixue coming along, this is the brand that used to dominating market for teens.

I have never try their product personally but they’re famous in social media especially twitter and since i often spending time in there to look up for the recent information, it makes me accustomed with the brand too since its often talked about. The latest trending post in the social media about this brand was when someone made a post about how she thinks that this brand is ruining the health of us because of the sugar level that they put in their drink. She said that their drink is basically all sugar. The post blowed up so much. In my opinion, to be fair the same thing can be said to basically every places. But, what i like about some place are we can choose the sugar level and such while this place dont let us make that choice or even offer it at us. I also doesnt like overly sugary drink because it hurts my throat sometimes yet my husband suggested that we should try them at least once to know the taste.

The popular girl group Blackpink will hold a concert in Jakarta in few months, maybe in February. It seems like the Es Teh will have a blackpink ticket giveaway. It was quite tempting since the ticket is quite expensive and its sold out in a minute so its pretty hard to grab one. I was tempted but cant be bothered to read and do all the terms and conditions. So, if you’re interested and didnt know about this info, you can try it and i wish you a lot of luck.

The place is not big but its bigger than other brand that sells drink in this place. The place was also pretty much empty despite that its in the weekend so me and my husband can sit nice and calmly in there without have to worry about too many people around us.

This is their menu. Sadly, this brand doesnt have any snacks despite the comfort of their space. The most famous drink of them are Chizu Red Velvet. This also the drink that became controversial as i said in the paragraph above.

This is our drink. We were so tempted to try Chizu Red Velvet as i personally love chizu and i feel that its ok to drink the overly sugary drink once in awhile anyway. But, like i said before, we were so full because we had dinner already in our home and drinking a heavy drink like that will make me puke for sure. Me and my husband decide to have a refreshing and light drink so we will not put more burden on our stomach.

The drink that we choose to have is Lychee Tea in large size. The price is 15.000 idr. I have never try lychee tea as sweet as this one, seriously. For me lychee tea is supposed to be lightly sweet with some sourness to it. Hence that is why they’re so refreshing. In this lychee tea the sourness get overpowered by the sweetness that it makes the refreshing taste we should get from lychee tea gone. It was quite a burden to my throat drinking this tea. I cant imagine what their chizu red velvet, the drink that said to contain the most sugar would taste like. I was also disappointed that they dont give even one lychee in there. I think that for the price, it’s reasonable that the customer asked to have at least one lychee.
