Things firing up?

We've had so much rain you can hear the grass growing. This was my dusk view, sitting next to the braai fire last evening. The grass is growing but not very slowly in the areas that are in full shade. At least we're not living in a dust bowl! Anymore...for the moment...

It was a whirlwind day in the office, and I came out of it - not quite on fire, or with a fire underneath me - happier than in a while. In short, I had two very good meetings so I'm beginning to feel a bit more confident about work prospects.

For the first time in ages we had a week night braai and I actually had time to sit and stare into the fire. How the wood burns and how smoke billows out of unexpected places has fascinated me since I was a small child.

The smoke gave way to loud, spitting flames.

Without wanting to jinx anything, things may be firing up.
