Splat (or similar word beginning with f...)
It was back to poached eggs last night. I confess that I do like the creamy richness of duck egg yolk. That, though, is exactly why it's one duck and one hen's egg for this supper.
It was a cooler evening so I baked some tomatoes and heated up what was left of Wednesday's ratatouille as a bed for the eggs.
I had a disaster. A first. I dropped an egg. Splat! I did manage to save most of it...because I don't like wasting...
It was edible and the baked tomato went well with it, but I admit, it wouldn't be my preferred way of preparing an egg...
The ones that worked, worked perfectly.
Garden loot
Our first picking of this season's lettuce.
It's soul food and formed the base for one of my new and current favourite salads: cucumber, beetroot and @Trish's tzatziki.
Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.
- Join Hive using this link and then join us in the Silver Bloggers' community.

- lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on @hive.blog and Canva.
Hopefully I have some duck eggs coming tonight in a grocery delivery, you got to me #justsaying
