Friday Files - on a Sunday

I didn't get to do my usual Friday Files yesterday because of PUD Business. I love my Fridays: in the kitchen and now that summer's approaching, happy forages and forays into the garden that have me heading back indoors for my phone to snap at the wonder of it all.

I love how our ornamental vine bursts into bright green leaf and how the little bunch buds seem almost ethereal - helped along by the perfect angle of the sun. I took this when I was checking on mother (the starter for this week's bread) as she was languishing in the sun waiting for her time.

Also on my agenda was potting another batch of olives and for that, and this week's jar offering, I needed herbs. Along the way:

The parsley and mint were destined for this week's salad in the jar, which was a Moroccan lentil salad with dried apricots, toasted almonds, cinnamon, cumin, cloves and fresh parsley, mint and coriander. As always, it's plant-based. I made extra as we have friends visiting the village on business this week, and I plan to give a couple of jars to them when we see them.

The rosemary went into another batch of olives. Potting (more) olives has been on my agenda for the last three weeks and I just haven't got there.

Here they are, potted and waiting variously for labels as well as for the people whose names will be on a couple of them. But that's not all of them. I still have another bucket and a half to pot...

We have a very busy week ahead. I have work stuff and we have social engagements like we've not had for many, many moons... including a 50th birthday - themed. We shall see if our outfits are fit for the blockchain...

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
I blog to the Hive blockchain using a number of decentralised appplications.
  • From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

Garden is coming to life, as is your kitchen with bottling once again.

Saying always goes "give a busy person something extra to do", you most definitely have no time to linger on any day of your busy weeks, well done!
