Funko Pop Collection: A New Hobby Just Started

The other day, i was just sitting quietly on my PC and i saw an ad about Pop Funko. To tell you the truth i didn't know the magnitude of the collectibles as i have only bought one for a friend of mine. I dig in a bit more and learn a couple of things about the history of the company which i will just state for you all.

So Funko was started in 1998 by Mike Becker who basically created a series of figures called "Wacky Wobblers". The let's say unique thing is that the head can move and the first figure was designed for a restaurant chain in America. Below you can see a picture:

So the company grew a lot and there are over 30000 Funko products out there. In particular, the Funko pops over 10k. The interested thing is that there are many people collecting Funko out there and some of them can reach hundreds and thousand of dollars. There are different variations, limited editions, funko that glow in the dark, some have sound and lights, others are oversized and the list goes on.

From what i searched there is a small decline in people collecting them but i think that has to do with how the general economy is going. Salaries are stable while literally everything else like, gas costs, rents, food is going up. Thus, the first thing someone will cut down will be an X amount or basically everything that he/she would pay for their hobbies.

So let's get back to me! From research i did in my country, i could find a lot of different Funko Pops and with a different price set. I decided to buy some that were on sale after i did a check through the net worldwide to check the prices. I decided to buy 5, one would be a gift and the other 4 for me. In total i paid 50 euros.

Let's do some unboxing! I will only show 2 of them today and tomorrow the other 3!

This is the box, the Greeks already know the company, it may seem like it has to do something with Japan but not even close. The box says some cringy things and at the end, it says "Open me".

This is the first one i bought, the only one that is not a special edition or something and that i will give it as a gift to a friend of mine. As you can see it's Minnie Mouse, and most likely that box will get opened.

In the back you can see other collectibles of this series, all looking cute to be honest. I may end up by more of this series.

This is the last one i will show today and it's Orochimaru from Naruto, i bet you all know him and the anime! He was a villain that basically turned into a good guy after all. His powers are to basically use snakes.

Even though it can't be seen that well on the bottom right it's says that this is a limited edition. Now i don't know how many pieces actually exist in total but consider it a bit rarer than Minnie and in general Pops that doesn't have a sticker.

I guess the reason this is a "special Edition" is because it's about Akatsuki a special villain group in anime so i guess they made less pieces than usual. In any case, i would say that all are looking cool!
