Splinterlands Art Contest Week 296! Fiery bird.

I wanted to once again participate in this art contest. This time I decided to redo a drawing I did last year(?) In past it was on paper but this time I worked on black canvas. I tried to draw ELEMENTAL PHOENIX hatching from the egg inside the sun. This time I turned sun into a second egg, added more flames, stars and moons. I think that this time my design looks better so I am happy that I revived PHOENIX for a second life.

This was final result in the past when I only used colored pencils on paper.

This time I started by drawing with pencil on black canvas.

After that I began coloring the bird and both eggs with colored pencils.

Then I colored the flames.

Finally I added more layers of flames with acrylic paints and drew moons and stars. All in all this piece took me a few days to complete.
