Suburban Cows - A Series of Photographs
In the middle of the city, there is a farm. Here you find various animals and lovely products made from their milk. But this hosts the perfect opportunity to take some photographs of the cows. @urban.scout spotted these furry friends and immediately ran to them. But they were just too far away for petting. Luckily I took the zoom lens with me and I got some really nice photographs of these magnificent creatures walking in the suburban farm.
Please do enjoy these photographs and scroll to the bottom to read my general musings, as per usual.
Can you see them, the one cow ask the other one.
Can they see us? he asks sarcastically.
I don't know, his friend responds.
Do they see me, I wonder myself. This random guy making clicking noises with the black thing in his hands. But there I stood, taking photographs of them like they were my models. And to some degree, they were. The cows turned into the models. Furry, big, and loud models.
We stood and watched for a while before the others were brought out for milking. The sisters. The white fluffy cows looked at the jersey cows across them as if they were aliens. But they probably were for them. Two different cow species looking at each other must have been a crazy experience. Seeing different cultures are probably the closest we can come to this feeling.
But in any case, these beauties stood still for us so that we could see them a bit better. They posed like real models.
I hope you enjoyed this cow photography post.
Happy photographing and stay safe.
The photographs used in this post are my own, taken with my Nikon D300 and Tamron 300mm zoom lens. The musings are also my own.
@ackhoo thank you so much for the curation! Always appreciated. Keep well.
As a vegetarian I appreciate these happy cows.
I remember a farm called Oude Molen in Pinelands (in the Cape Town city suburbs), where I lived for six months many years ago. Though they didn't have cows like these. Only cart horses which I groomed and rode around Pinelands selling food produce.
For sure! They are magnificent when they are healthy and happy. It is so sad when they are malnourished and in poor environments, unfortunately a common thing these days.
Oh yes, I think I have driven past that farm many times as the name rings many bells now.
What a lovelys photos of the cow 😍😍
Thank you so much! Just good timing as they looked so happy!
I love cows and love taking photos of them. Whenever I'm at my dad's, I go out to the pasture and take photos, but this time we were so busy I could not do it.
These are lovely 😍
Oh yes for sure! @urban.scout always make me stop at all the farms with cattle on them. They are magnificent! Do tag me in your next cow photography post please, @urban.scout would love that!
😁 I need to go cow hunting next time I'm at my dad's. Let's hope they are close to the wire and can take some decent shots as zooming takes away from quality.
Have a nice weekend :)
Zooming is a problem right! Keep well and enjoy the last bit of weekend before the new week.
@fermentedphil, I am sure you enjoy it as much as I do. Who doesn’t love the four-legged balls of sweetness?
100%! Thank you for taking me along with all these wonderful adventures.
Soo adorable 🥰🥰🥰. I thought it was a toy. Cute cows😍
Thank you so much! They could have been fuzzy toys! I really appreciate the visit. Keep well my friend.
Seems like you're doing some farm planning for one day when......
I always have a chuckle at your words "fermented cow" "fermented chicken"
Yes for sure! But I am sure being a “stadsjapie” did not prepare me in any sense. I know plants but live animals are another ball game.
Thanks! Same here to be honest. But it has become “my style” now haha. My girlfriend always comments on certain photographs and say “that is for sure a fermentedphil” haha.
That's funny. Stadsjapie 🤣😎
