Hello hello friends of HIVE may God's blessing be with us always, on this occasion I want to share with you my impression when I saw all the pineapple plants that my father-in-law has in the yard of his house and the most surprising thing is that almost all of them are giving fruits 😳 it is a show of colors, well, they go from intense orange or red (the pineapples that are just being born) to a yellow or light green color (the ones that are close to be harvested) I will also give you some recommendations regarding these plants, hoping it will be useful. Here we begin...

We went for a weekend family visit to my father-in-law's house, it is something we do infrequently, but most of the time I go to the patio of the house, because it is an open space where you can breathe fresh air and they have many fruit plants, this time my attention was focused only on the pineapple plants that are in season (time in which the plants are forming their fruits) and particularly with this plant the waiting time is quite long (up to 2 years) so when this period is fulfilled is cause for great excitement.

Hermosa piña en el patio de mi suegro/ Beautiful pineapple in my father in law's backyard

Then impressive for the variety of colors and the amount of plants that are forming their fruits. I started to look at the buds or small children that are formed on the stem of the plant, just below the fruit, once harvested the pineapple these as well as the crown (top of the pineapple) can be planted preferably in distant spaces of the house, where there is not much traffic because the thorns of their leaves can cause damage, then in a time of approximately two years will be starting to bear fruit.

It is important to mention that once the pineapple is ready and is pulled up, the plant should not be cut, before it is advisable to check between the leaves to see if there are signs that a bud (son) is being born, if so, let it grow and in about a year and a half it will bear fruit (a little faster than if we plant the crown or the children of the stem of the pineapple), that is, the same plant can bear several fruits not simultaneously, but successively. My father in law told me that he has had plants that have given him 4 and even 5 pineapples. These plants are very dependent on the sun's rays so they must be planted in places where they have at least 8 hours daily exposure to it, watering should be constant at least once a day in places where humidity is high, since the composition of this fruit is abundant in liquid.

This is how the small pineapple fruits look as soon as they are formed, they inspire tenderness and the thought that in a short time they will become a fruit salad, a smoothie or pineapple slices🤣. As you can see it is a very versatile fruit that can be tasted in different ways and also has a lot of vitamins.

I don't want to say goodbye without showing you my pineapple plants, I only have two for now and it is worth mentioning that both were a gift from my father-in-law. One of them is already very close to give its first harvest and that has me very excited, it also has 4 children in its stem, plus the crown and a son between the leaves, after this harvest I will have 7 pineapple plants 🥳 I can already imagine them all giving fruit at the same time😍.

You're a lucky lady. I can only see pineapples in the supermarket as the climate is not suitable for growing them here. You took some great photos.

Thank you very much, the truth is that I am very lucky, my backyard space is very small, however, it is very well distributed and some plants like pineapple grow very well, I can't wait to eat the first pineapple grown at home. I'm so glad you liked the photos it's a challenge to take them with a low gamma cell phone, but that's what I have for now. Thanks for reading. 🤗
