Hello everyone. I'm thrilled to be participating in this weeks entry.
This is hive open mic week 249, I'm favecandy and I'll be doing a song cover of "got to live" by sam Fischer.

The song "got to live" attempts to find balance between wanting more and appreciating what you already have.
It's very easy to fixate on what goes wrong in life, no matter how many things are going right. In the song, Fischer takes a step backwards from all the success he's had and the hardship he's overcome to remind himself to stay present in every moment and appreciate the little things.

So i choose to sing this song because it reminds me of the past, the lyrics expresses how i feel deep down. I view the lyrics from a different perspective.
"My wife would be sad and keep asking why", this part connotes how sad, depressed and shattered my Mom was when my dad left us. She had to face all odds alone, she went through so much pain.

"I hope i don't go before it's my time before i can show what I'll do with my life" this part tells about my hopes and wishes that i don't die before it's my time, before i can show what I'll do with my life. My Dad died as a very young man, he was at his early 40's. He never really had a definition of what exactly he's life would be like. No plans, no achievements, nothing at all, leaving us broken and leaving me with that trauma.
