Different things happen in our lives for a reason, and there is this particular event that happened right before my eyes, which made me realise that nothing lasts. Everything is just an illusion; most things we believe would make us happy are just our minds wandering around in their own world, telling us this will make us happy. The fact is, there are things that definitely will make us happy, but do we have the power to bring them into reality?

It happens like a story; the event

It happened like a story that was played before my eyes. I still remembered how he kneeled down at her birthday party and proposed to her, “Will you marry me?” He asked and She said yes. I watched as they hugged and kissed each other. All I could do was smile and let my imagination run wild. A few months later, after both parents met, trouble tiptoed into their relationship, and they started having misunderstandings. Bro wanted to get the wedding done on time so they could start a new phase of their lives, but his fiancé's dad wanted her to pass her medical exam first before she got married. It was going to take another year. It was what stopped them from getting married last year; she failed the exam, and she would have to sit for another. Bro was getting impatient, and it felt like he didn’t want to support her. He wanted her to do it in their matrimonial home, but her dad refused.

I watched them split their ways; the engagement ring was returned. The introduction that the family did became a waste, but I learned a great deal from it.

After the event, I was in communication with both parties. I couldn’t blame anyone because the fault came from everyone around them. I had to let go of some friends I made in her family, and this hurts a lot.

A Good Change of Life.

I’m a man of calculation, which has helped me in decision-making, but there are some things that even the biggest calculator can’t help you with, and that’s finding the right partner, the person you will spend the rest of your life with. Sometimes, when I think about this stage, I become scared because I have seen a lot of things going on in marriages, both good and bad.

The only event I believe would change my life without knowing what to expect is the day I climb on that exotic alter to say my vows to the woman I would spend the rest of my life with. The one that I would share my joy, pain, happiness, and everything else with. It’s a life-changing experience, and no matter how hard I plan it, I always come up with a different ending. It’s a day I know my life and everything about me will change, and I’m working hard to make sure that when that day comes, I won’t give in to anything that would make sure an amazing day turns bad.
