A Crazy Market Strategist.

The story you are about to read is a story that always makes me laugh. Anything I think about it, you might not understand immediately, but I am sure if you read this story to the end, you will laugh last.

DifferentIt is normal for people to enter the commercial bus in my country (Nigeria). This bus I am talking about is popularly known as "Molue" in Lagos City. In this bus, different activities like selling, advertising, and even preaching are done on this bus, but what happened on this day will always amaze me.

I was on my way to my grandma's place when we boarded this bus. There were so many passengers in it because the bus is nothing less than a 40-passenger seater bus. As soon as the bus started moving, I knew something like this would happen, but I thought it was selling a limited version of a candy or people trying to prompt a business, but I was wrong. As soon as the bus started moving, this elderly man stood up; his seat was located around the middle of the bus.

He started (I might not remember all he said, but I will pick the points): "Good day every; many of you are going to visit someone; will many of you be going home? My name is... (Forget the name though), and I am not here to sell you things that would make me feel special but things that will benefit you. I have been in the local drug business for a long time, and I have sold to people in different locations. I don't want only people in the village to benefit from this drug, which is why I came to the city. I came from Ibadan, and my number is on the drug; you can take the number and call it to see if it rings. I will never lie to you."

"I have three local drugs here that work like magic." He brought out three drugs, with one looking like dust in a closed case. He started talking about what the drugs are used for, and it was like he knew all the medical problems of everyone on the bus. From back pain, sight issues, stomach cleaning, sleeping well at night, stress, this and that.

Another thing he did was talk about how very important it is to follow the instructions before use; he also said if the passenger forgot how to use the drugs, his number was on the drug for them to call him.

The deal was too sweet for people to back out; he even said if they didn't believe him, they could go to Ibadan and ask about him; also, if the drugs don't work, people should come together to arrest him because everything was tested and trusted.

It all started with a man who bought two of them, and before I knew it, people started buying. He went on with, you might be thinking it's fake, you can buy it for your loved ones and ask them to use it. He was like, he would be leaving the city too because he couldn't produce the drug in the city, so if they want to buy it, they should get it now because they wouldn't see him again. They would only see him if they visited his own village.

In a blink of an eye, I saw my mom stretching her hand to request the pain relief drug. How can this woman of faith fall for this trick? I wonder, but she wanted it for my dad.

After we bought the drug, we went back home, and she gave my dad the drug but forgot the instructions, so she called the number, and the number was never registered.

Well, this is Lagos. Do what you can to make it," was what my dad told her.

Image use is mine.

I've happened to experience something like this. I was quite fascinated at the number of people that patronized this old man that day. My trust issues can never😂

I can tell you that your country and mine have similarities, here they sell in public transportation all kinds of things and there are always those who want that miracle that they offer and fall into the trap of those who have good speech and manage to sell even stones saying that later they will become bread.

Lol, this is a common practice in all commercial buses now not only in the molue. I have also fallen for the trick and bought a painkiller drug Fri the peddler in the bus. The drug cost #100 and I was glad I got a good deal. But when I took the drugs, it worsened my ulcer symptoms and I fell sick for days. I asked my brother to throw the remaining 4 dozes away before I die Young.

Ever since then, I can never fall for their trick again. If they start to sell, I will plug in my earphones and listen to music.

Lol. I dread public vehicles because of this. Most times I suffer from second hand embarrassment when they don't buy the vendor's product. But sometimes it's for a just cause because we don't know what these people are selling.🌺

Hahaha 😀 😆 I don't fall for that trick oo. Many people are looking for ways to extort money from others and would not hesitate to do whatever they find would work. I hope your dad didn't use the drug? Some are fake but it's so funny how people fall for such.

Seriously, we need to be careful with this fake market strategy, especially concerning drugs and things we ingest into our body.

I don’t buy anything from vehicle vendors or marketers. There will always be fake.

Cheers 🥂 guys.

That is just lagos for you and that's why they say "if you are not wise before, staying in Lagos would make you wise. This was actually funny and relatable but you can't blame mommy sha, she was persuaded and was considering daddy in this.
