Why September Might Surprise Us

Well, it's been one cold summer for Bitcoin, hasn't it? The world can't catch up as prices swing between $55,000 and $65,000. I don't know about you, but my head spins trying to keep up!

I already hear the moans: "Great, another doom and gloom September prediction." Well, hear me out, I've been doing a bit of digging here, and I think this month could just provide a nice little surprise.

First of all, the Fed-most of them, anyway.

Yeah, I know, not very thrilling, but bear with me. This week, on the 18th, there is a big Federal Reserve meeting in which it seems they might finally be considering cutting interest rates.

What does this mean and why should one care? Well, with the cost of borrowing money lowering, people start to become a little more adventurous in their investments. And what do you think often benefits from this? You guessed it: our old buddy Bitcoin.

Remember when last time Bitcoin mooned? Jerome Powell, the big cheese at the Fed, gave that hawkish speech that presaged an interest rate cut. I have a feeling we could get a replay of sorts. It would be like an espresso shot into the crypto market, and it may get quite wild.

Now, for whales, not the ocean creatures, but big investors in Bitcoin.

These guys have bought the digital currency like it was going out of style, even when prices plunged. Today, already they own upwards of 20% of the total existing Bitcoins. That is a cool $230 billion!

And the number of wallets holding more than 100 BTC reaches a 17-month high. What does that tell us?

Rather a fine omen, if you ask me. Large players stocking up generally means they are expecting good things. Just like back at school when the smart kids started paying attention, you knew something was about to get interesting!

Hold the phone.

I am starting to sound like the host of some late-night infomercials. However, just bear with me. This is probably going to be a little technical when speaking of some Bitcoin exchange flows, but in all honesty, it is pretty simple.

Lately, we have been witnessing more Bitcoin leaving exchanges than entering them. The good news is that on average, this means people are hodling rather than getting ready to sell.

Think of it this way: if there is a party going on and everybody starts putting their coats on, you know, probably the fun is winding down. On the contrary, the times people are settling in and getting comfy, the party's probably just getting going. The moment, concerning the Bitcoin world, is when people are kicking off their shoes and staying on for a while.

Now, I can almost hear what some of the skeptics will be thinking: "But what about the miners? They have been selling!" And quite rightly so they have. Over 2,600 Bitcoins sold in just one weekend are not exactly small potatoes.

It doesn't always spell gloom and doom every time the miners sell. Sometimes, they are just covering some costs or securing some profits. To the farmer, it is as good as selling part of his produce, not that his whole harvest would go to naught.

What's the bottom line, then?

Well, I do not predict- in any way, shape, or form, Bitcoin is going to the moon in September. Crypto is about as predictable as a cat on catnip.

Oh boy, so much cat hate😁

On that same note, though, I do think some pretty exciting indications are pointing toward upside potential.

My advice is to keep your eyes peeled, do your own research, and maybe, just maybe, get ready for an interesting ride. Crypto land in September might just be far more interesting than we had previously thought!
