Bonjour, how's it going, everyone? hope you all are doin well. lets discuss an important topic today, which is should children help their parents when they are old? its an rather important topic to discuss, because around us we are seeing a lot of unjustice and other social problems regarding this issue. so, without further ado, lets jump right into the topic.

In todays post-modern world, many people believe in so much freedom that they sometimes go over the boundaries to get too much freedom. One of the result this causes is that it makes them sometimes neglect social responsibilities and simple human interactions. today, many people believe that children should not help their parents in their old age. they argue that the children might not have enough money, or maybe they have their own families and they do not have enough time. But I strongly oppose their position.

I believe that no matter how hardship the children are going through, they must try their best to help their parents. our parents went through a lot of pains and headaches taking care of us when we were growing up. So, it keeps no waiting saying that, we must do the same. It will never pay the same price as they did taking caring of us, but it is the very least we could do.

I know some countries, where this isnt the norm to take care of parents in their old age. i have seen in social media, very horrible incidents. one of them was, in a country, the norm is that, when some people get old, then they just go live in a place, and wait for death. ALONE. and after they die, they just keep rotting and decomposing until the neighbors can smell it and then they call some organization who come and take out their bodies. Those organization have to be also paid money beforehand by the dying person, before their death unless they wont do it. So, this story alone has made me sick of this realisation that how these norms in some countries could be so disturbing realities.

On the otherhand, in our culture, the scenario is completely different for most of the cases if not all. in india and bangladesh, it is very common for grownup children to live with their parents and help them. they keep their parents together with their own kids and families. This tradition does go back a long way and it is also deeply rooted here in our culture. or even if they live separately, it is expected that children visit and help their parents occasionally when they need it.

Modernization has made it easier for people to live longer in a general sense. but it also can mean that parents will need more care for a long time.

By this writing, I discussed a big topic: the expectation that children should take care of their aging parents. In conclusion, i wanna say that caring for aging parents is a very natural thing. It's important for everyone to think about this.

So what do you think? Shouldn't we care more about our parents and elders? How do you plan for your own old age? I also invite you to the conversation. Share your thought in the comments below.
