A Graphite Portrait

When I started making portraits, I had this love for depths and expressed it every way I could. Over time, I tried making light sketches to so as to see how well I could interpret textures without overly shading. They turned out nice and somehow, I forgot it was a study and stuck with light sketches.

This drawing above is one of those sketches I made before deviating. The entire background was to be dark and the face was to pop out in the middle but halfway through I decided otherwise. I hope though that I interpreted it well....

That would be funny if it is. This guy is a lot younger though...so perhaps....maybe he does time travel. !WINEX
