Hello everyone, how are you doing today?
It's another Sunday for the creative sunday initiative, a time to share our ideas, our skills, which blesses people in ways known to them.
Having said this, I will be doing a poem titled, "it is never too late". This poem is a peculiar one in the life a single person because it has to do with our relationship with our spouse. Some are in a relationship that all has gone wrong from the onset but instead of bailing out and quitting, they are still in the relationship hoping for a miracle. I am in no way saying a miracle cannot happen but why take the risk when there are better options.
My inspiration for writing this poem is based on a relationship I had with my ex, I wanted better for the relationship, I wanted it to work out well, but it just wasn't working well, despite all my efforts. And unfortunately, the other party did not see all I do to make things work. Eventually, we had to part ways. I knew it would happen someday because it looked as if we were just gambling, so when it happened I wasn't surprised but I had wasted time and effort in the relationship.
So, I write to those that are single or in a relationship, do not be afraid to get out of a wrong relationship. It's better to get out now than go misery and still come out later after wasting so much time. It is never too late! I hope the poem blesses you as it blessed me. Enjoy the read;

It's never too late.....

When I think of relationships I have invested my time in,
The time wasted,
It looked like there was no way out,
But to stick with the same set of people,
But little did I know that,
It is never too late,
Time just makes the difference.

The question I ask most of the time is,
Why?
Why waste your time?
Why trade your happiness to please others?
Why not find a better way to make things right?
Why not find a way out?
But in the end, i am as clueless as my questions.

Loving others is not a crime,
But when it is one sided,
It suddenly becomes unfair,
So why wait when you can find your way out,
It is never too late.

It is not a do or die affair,
It only brings havoc to postpone the inevitable,
No matter what happens,
Life goes on,
And never you forget that,
It is never too late to get out of any unpleasantness.

Summary

• The whole summary of the poem is that we should not be afraid to make radical decisions when necessary, especially when it comes to our relationship with our spouse. My experience made me write the poem, after so much wasted time and effort. There's no need to postpone the inevitable, it will eventually happen, so why not now when there is still time and hope for something better.
