Tita Dina's Seafood Restaurant in Robinson's Place Tacloban
It's always fun to eat with friends, and speaking of friends, I'd like to introduce you to Rodien, one of my greatest friends since high school.
I arrived in Tacloban on the same day as my flight. I typically spend the night there, but this time I'd prefer not. I've made plans to meet with two of my dearest pals before returning back to Cebu.
Rodien was able to meet me at the terminal 30 minutes after my arrival. We were attempting to contact one of our friends, but her phone kept ringing. Rather than waiting, we went to Robinson's place in Marasbaras.
We were able to discuss her future plans while we were inside the car since she is preparing to move to the United States to work as a nurse. It's been an incredible experience to bond with her because we only get to see each other so often, especially during covid. We never had the chance to bond during my prior visit because she works in the intensive care unit and can't go out.
When we arrived at the mall, I was astounded by how much everything had changed since my last visit. It does not depict the damage caused by the fire in 2019, which took two years for the mall to rebuild. There are several new businesses and restaurants that I am not familiar with and that were not there when I last visited.
We took a few minutes to look up potential restaurants. After a time, we decided to try Tita Dinas' Seafood Restaurant. I am delighted to dine in with my friend, but I am very cautious about what we will order because my friend Rodien has allergies that are quite troubling because she cannot eat too much-processed food, also soy sauce, cheese, and even tomatoes.
We took our time ordering because she obviously had a lot of questions regarding the contents of the dish. The one meal she can eat without taking antihistamines is unavailable. We were quite fortunate that the waiter who serves the food is courteous and helpful. He is able to ask their chef and provide us with a response in a quick way.
We eventually chose the food after making a request and waited for 25-35 minutes for our food to be served. While waiting, I see that the place is pretty popular. Some tables have been reserved, the majority of the tables are full, and some are waiting outside for their turn.
What we ordered for lunch
Grilled Liempo= We all enjoy this meal, and it is not new to us. The pork is soft and easy to slice, which is a good thing because no one enjoys food that is difficult to slice and eat.
Hummus with Kamote Thins= It was served first, so we could savor it while we waited for the other dish we ordered. It was thinly cut and tasted fine, but nothing special.
Pinaputok na Tiyan= It was a tomato-filled boneless Milk Fish. I really enjoy it with a lot of tomatoes and onions on it.
I was able to get a Mango Shake for beverages.
The day isn't finished yet, and I still have time until my flight; one of our friends, whom we attempted to call, comes shortly after we finish our lunch. So we moved on to our next location, which I will also share in my future blog, so stay tuned.
Thank you so much for reaching this part, and until next time. 😘
Xoxo 💕
