The never-ending chasing game

white butterfly.jpg

A few forest walks in the sprig resulted in very few butterfly photos. I wish there was more, and I saw more butterflies, but some were so shy that I could not get anywhere near them. They would tease me for many, many meters, pretending they are tired and will sit for a bit (so I would have the time to take the shot), but no... keep on flying. Sit for 3 seconds and pick up again.

There was one like that. I don't know what it was, but I am pretty sure I have never shot it before. And I will still have to wait for the opportunity. One day...

I did manage to get these few though. Still not the easiest task. Do they get more cautions in the forest because there are more predators (birds) there? The ones I find in the garden seem to be more relaxed.

As the first one, we have the little Green-veined White (first photo). Quite a common one, but after it finished feeding on the dandelion, it flew away and didn't come back. Oh well...

The next one I saw a few times during one walk and especially in one area in the forest. There must have been a plant it likes to lay eggs on for the caterpillars to feed on.

This is Speckled wood butterfly. Quite typical for moist forest areas. A simple brown and yellow colours with few beautiful spots.

Later another one tried very hard to blend with the dry leaves on the ground.

And finally my favourite one - Holly blue butterfly.
Check out how cute and stripy antennas is has :)

I have been following this one for a while too. It kept flying from one side of the path to the other until he finally sat. For just a little bit to rest.

It is the smallest of them all, but the blue colour is very eye catching. I often see it in the garden too, near raspberry bushes.

Later little one.

Beautiful butterflies, my favorite is also the blue one. I know it is not an easy task to take a picture of them.

They always fly gracefully, inviting us to come closer, but always fly away just when we reach a good distance to take a photograph. : ) !LOLZ

Good morning dear friend @ewkaw
I share with you that taking photographs of butterflies is a real odyssey, however you got great shots

Two things that I really like and have a hard time photographing are dragonflies and butterflies, they are incredibly distrustful.

Have a happy start to the week

Oh dragonflies are much harder than butterflies. And much faster too.

Nice photos. I could never take good photos of butterflies. They were too smart and very fast.

As colorful and beautiful as the butterfly is, so are your photographs. Background plays an important part in the beauty of a photograph. @ewkaw
