Hurry hurry little bee

Bumblebee pelargonium 11.jpg

I am so grateful for the modern cameras where we can shoot and shoot and not worry about the amount of photos (as long as your card allows it). I would be so frustrated with film cameras, and the more I appreciate someone who actually uses them to shoot moving objects.

I have wasted so many shots on this little guy here! He just wouldn't sit still, and the focus wasn't fast enough to catch him.

I was admiring the huge bush of pink pelargoniums. The setting sun was giving such nice light. And then I spotted the fat white butt :)
Oh yes... bumblebee!

They are like flying teddy bears with their round, furry bodies. Adorable creatures (not like the nasty beetles from this post :p)

And even though they are slower and bigger than bees, when they are in a hurry to eat as much as possible before the night, they can play hard to get. I had to use my zoom lens here to be able to catch them from the middle of the bush (it was huge!). I would not be able to get this close with my regular macro lens.

Here is a nice sequence of 4 photos one after another. You can see how he was inspecting those flowers one by one.

Most of the photos were like this 👇. Not counting the completely out of focus ones :p

Mad skills are required to catch humble bees while pollinating flowers. They are lightning fast!

Amazing photographs! @ewkaw

Its hairs look so soft, it would be cool to cuddle a bumblebee but then... maybe it would not be a clever idea hahahaha

Bees usually fly very fast, but you managed to capture interesting pictures

Great photos again. You do these macro shots very well. The only things I was able to photograph recently were cats XD They were incredibly cute.

Nice catch, I know how hard is to catch these guys. The flower is in focus, there is wind, bumblebee can't be still not even for a second... ehhhh. Great job!

Yea they can be hard to get sometimes. The more rewarding it is when some photos actually come up good.
Thanks!

The photographs of the bumblebee on your pink flower are very beautiful. I will be able to understand everything you said about the camera because like there are 2 sides of a coin, the other side of photography in present times is the camera. Even if you have a sophisticated camera, it can make any photograph look beautiful. @ewkaw

You have a really incredible camera, you take beautiful shots in movements.
What beautiful shots you took of this bee, I have tried several times to photograph them, without as much luck as yours.
Beautiful shots dear friend @ewkaw have a great day

Maybe try different settings. What works for still objects most likely will not work more something that moves a lot.

Insects rarely stay still long enough for us to get great photos. You managed just fine. ❤️

I agree I have massive respect for the film cameras that were used back in the day. It’s great to have a card that can have multiple shots and the faster the white butt moves the more it will question your skills to photograph them. 😂 I too used o have similar issues with the birds during our research. Not only are they quick in flying they often hop on the bark of the tree searching for larvae to feed on.
