FungiFriday - Hidden branches and predators
It was getting late and I was about to get into the car, but something (predators!) was calling me to go an check one more spot. A huge, old cork. There are always some old branches around it as they brake with the heavy winds. With rains and plenty of lush green grasses around, in theory it could be a good spot for some more mushrooms.
And yes... it was. I had to search a bit and more the greenery around to find one, large piece hidden in the shade. I picked up and moved it to a brighter spot.
A really big group in good condition. All surrounded by few types of lichens.
And just at the underside. Such pretty things! It is good to be able to move them around instead of having them stuck in one position.
I started to inspect them a little closer and tats is when I found this cool fella. He didn't move a bit. Not even blinked as I was trying get his best angle an was moving the branch a lot.
And then it hit me...
A Predator!
Just like twins :)

This is actually predator!! dammit a common bug called Woodlouse. And just like mushrooms it likes moist environments, so I guess it is pretty normal that I found them together.
Back to the shrooms though. Here you can see the whole group all together. I was quite satisfied with the find and I can imagine it was quite a view of me dragging it around to get to the right spot.
And no, I did not take it home with me :p
Bonus:
Something I drew a while ago and just fits here perfectly. I think I found more purple type back them, that's why the colours.
Opsie..

It is really fun to explore the world of mushrooms. Whenever I see mushroom pictures, I think of the cultivated mushrooms we see around when we go camping. In fact, no matter how simple they look, they play a very important role in the forest, and sometimes they even look like they are grown especially for decoration. In the next camp, I will take my camera and take pictures of mushrooms and share them 😮
It is always goo to see them I think. Means everything works as it should.
Yes please do! :D
Love the underside of these 😍 Not too keen on a predator though! They just love to get everywhere. When I bring my orchids back home in the fall they hide in pots and don’t wanna leave 🙈😂 The close up is pretty cool though!
I love purple shrooms in your drawing too 💙
Oh true! They hide under the pots!
You keep your orchids outside? You have to show them some more ;)
In summer time I let some of them enjoy the fresh air for couple of months 😁
It's good that you stayed a while longer, it was what allowed you to find this beautiful variety of fungus
Excellent shots dear friend @ewkaw
enjoy the weekend
Yea, good I went to check on the giant tree.
Have an awesome weekend!

This is good work, with excellent photographs and a drawing as a perfect bonus. Thanks for sharing this world of fungi and that scary bug. Blessings, happy weekend.
Thank you! Have a great weekend yourself :)
Such a great find on the cork.
They look beautiful. And to find the little bugs too. Such great captures with so many details. Wonderful.
It does look a bit like predator hahaha 😜
Great artwork @ewkaw 😎 it does fit well here.
Thanks! I was looking all over the place for them. I finally did in the last spot :)
You are welcome, so great when that happens.
I found some yesterday… after the rain we had the last days… some popped up on the grass field close to our house. So I went and took some photos. 😎 will share soon.
The photos are just great!
Mushrooms look beautiful against the background of lichen, and wood lice are just a fashion model!
Thank you! They all match perfectly there, don't they :)
Yes, the combination is great!
Ew the shrooms whisperer.:D
I hate those terminator bugs, they move creepy and each time I'm about to lift some stone bunch pops out.
Are you a graphic designer? Drawing always looks cruelly cute.:D
The little aliens are everywhere! Did you notice the mean eyes?
Moi? Naah
I just like to doodle something stupid from time to time :)
Thanks! :D
