FungiFriday - delicious shrooms and decaying wood.

DSC_4827 copy.jpg

Autumn forests have this charm that I cannot resist. And it's not just the mushrooms that I love to pick and shoot, but everything else too. The fresh, humid air, the colours, the calmness - so much different than during the spring and summer when everything just burst with energy and seems to be in such a hurry. Autumn is calm... and quiet. I love it :)

And I don't always take my camera with me. but when I do, I come back with treasures like these.

We will start with the delicious boletus type mushrooms (that came with me with many others that I managed to find). A smooth, velvety hat and delicate sponge at the bottom. Most also have this intense mushroom smell - yes I tend to smell them after picking. Just cause :)

And for the rest, I am not sure if they wouldn't kill you. So I left them as I found them. The tiny mycena one is very common in the woods. Just a few cm tall, but there are thousands of them!

Lovely spotty amanita. Definitely not to be picked, but admired only.

I have no idea what those weirdos are :) They look like toasted marshmallows.

And a small orange with a proof of snail below. I suppose they are edible...
for some creatures anyway.

And now some forest shots. The decaying pieces of wood always look so dramatic.

The weirdos are cool! 😎 One of them was shy a bit so it stayed half hidden

Totally agree. I love forests this time of year too. Great shots you've taken here 👏

I'll have to get out to my forest soon and see what mushrooms might be blooming.

Fantastic photos from the forest. I like to smell mushrooms I bought from the market too. The smell conveyed a very fresh clean room with lots of space! It’s a shame I like to eat them too!

The colours of these photos are so beautiful and convey tenderness... but you know what?, it's a good thing that Joseph Nicéphore Niépce invented photography and that ‘sometimes’ you carry your camera with you. 😂 It's also a relief that this girl who writes to you has a long nose and without too much trouble could smell everything. 😜 😝
