As Dark as It Gets

2am dog walk and this is as dark as the night gets at this time of the year. I love it.

The night is about 6 hours long now, and will get down to mere minutes for a few days during mid summer. It’s the most magical time of the year when the sun doesn’t properly set at all, just dips a bit under the horizon and then right back up again.

I’m a night owl as is, so I’m always excited for the long light nights. It’s so nice to walk around in the almost silent bright night while most of the people are asleep.

Luckily I live in a quaint little village in Finland where it’s pretty darn safe for a woman to walk alone at night. The dog I have with me is very useless in terms of protection.
