Take Flight

It’s been years since I last traveled (Mexico in 2018?) but I’m off to Germany for a week and I’m so excited. We are on a work trip but the secretary (=me) booked an extra day so we have more time to explore and enjoy ourself too.

Our first flight was around 5am, a fast lay-over at Hell and then a flight to Germany. I was making this post last night but I passed out around 8pm after not sleeping for more than a wink for a couple days.

Obligatory sky porn photos above the clouds, stunning. Do note how fantastic the iPhone 15pro camera is, honestly so good after having the 12 mini for so long. I don’t care to take photos on the real camera when in flight because the windows are dirly plastic anyways.

I envy some of the travel opportunities Europe offers. I like Amtrak trains here in the US, but they are slow, and share rougher freight track, which also leads to delays when freight has priority. I have taken the bus across half the country before, but I doubt I'll do that again. And I refuse to fly in the post-9/11 world of TSA security theater, where they really do invade my privacy, but demonstrably fail abysmally when tested at stopping weapons or bombs by their own penetration testing.

Well I do live in Finland so traveling through Europe is not like it is here in Central Europe where you can easily take the train from country to country.

Yeah the TSA can be a bit annoying but I don’t mind, I’m not regularly traveling with weapons or drugs 😂
