What's better than ending an exhausting day with delicious food?

After spending the whole day working on an art piece and then later going out for grocery, my poor spine was on the verge of collapsing. It already suffers a lot due to the effing epidurals.

While driving through the city, we couldn't help but notice a bold yellow optp signboard. Living in a small city makes you cherish small joys much better. I don't think I ever ate at that place while living in Karachi. It seemed too mundane back then.

Look at me now, I was going crazy seeing the franchise opened in Mardan. Besides KFC and Habibi, there were no famous food franchises here before. It was decided at once that we were going to have dinner there.

Years ago, when I used to live in Lahore, Garlic Mayo Fries were a thing, I used to go to this place every opportunity I got. Then slowly, all the places specially Fast Food eatries started offering Garlic Mayo and gazillion types of other dips. Moreover, different kinds of loaded fries were also then served at almost every café. Probably this competition was one of the reason that soon optp became a thing of past.

Anyways, my inner foodie was over the moon to have optp in her small town. It was the first time for my kids so my elder one couldn't stop marvelling at the name optp and he got even more thrilled when we told him that it stands for One potato two potato.

The ambience of the place was quite McDonald's and KFC type since all are fast food chains. The colorful walls and witty catchpharses kept my elder son hooked and stopped him from throwing a tantrum for KFC. He was easily accommodated with a Joy Meal which was without a toy and I was so happy for that. God knows, how many Chicky meals and Happy meals we have bought just for the greed for another toy. 🥲

Besides Joy meal, we ordered a Pizza and Loaded Fries. Both kids enjoyed the Joy Meal which came with 4 Nuggets, Plain Fries along with a Flavored Milk.

Husband and I ate Smoked Italian Pizza and Loaded Bomber Fries.

Pizza was thin-crusted with hundreds of delicious flavors and cheese melting in mouth in every single bite. Since we moved to this small town, it was the first time I got to eat a scrumptious pizza. There were two more flavours, Pakistani Tikka and Mexican Jalapeño. We asked for their best selling flavor and indeed it spoke for itsef.

There were two kinds of Loaded fries to choose from. Bomber Fries with Grilled Chicken bites and Nashville Fries with Fried Chicken bites. We opted for Bomber. Just look at the picture. Is there any need for more explanation on how delicious these were? Crisp from outside and soft from inside fries, tender, juicy, right amount of spicy grilled chicken bites, crunchy raw onions and mind-blowing dips, together everything made the Bomber fries truly BOMB.

We wiped everything from the table in a matter of few minutes. I see myself going back to this place every time I visit the city.

The food was economical as well considering the current inflation. One Joy Meal, Half Pizza, Bomber Fries, Extra Mayo Dip, 330 ML drink - all this for 22 Hive. 🙂
