A coffee stop in Hotel Moskva, Belgrade

During a vacation, a trip to an unknown city, usually you walk a lot. And sometimes you need something refreshing to help you revigorate and top up your strenth to continue sightseeing.
For me, this is a nice cup of coffee. And if it happens to be served in an atmospheric enviroment, I get double the bonus.

So, in between museums in Belgrade, we simply had to visit the famous "Hotel Москва" (Hotel Moscow). The hotel by itself is magnificent. Located in the center of the city of Belgrade, it is considered one of the city's landmark. Even before we reached Serbia, there were a lot of people telling us that visiting this hotel is a must.

And boy, they were right. This hotel has a magnificent aura from all the history that contains. Built in the beginning of the 20th century, the hotel had become a myth among the locals, that prefer to drink their coffee in the beautiful terrace in front of the hotel.

But we preferred to drink our coffee inside and admire the beautiful interior decoration of the hotel's cafe.

Comfy, velvet chairs that you sink into them, taking away the fatigue of the day. It was honestly just what we needed after a long day of walking around the museums.

But of course, the most important thing was the coffee.Since it was the midday and we had already two espressos since the morning (the so much needed pauses in between the museums), we went for the safe option of a capuccino.

There was a slight delay, because there were a lot of people in the outside cafe that day, since it was a beautiful sunny day and everyone wanted to enjoy the nice weather. But I don't believe that it was more than 10 minutes. To tell the truth we didn't care a lot about the delay, because we were admiring the decoration of the cafe and discussing about the events that had taken place there.

But when the very polite waiter brought our order, it was a delight. I must admit that even I am a coffee addict, it was a perfect choice at that moment. Not too strong, aromatic enough, served with the right confectionery beside it.

The confectionery was a small piece of glazed cake, not so sweet, made by the hotel's chef to accompany the coffee.

Sipping our cups of coffee in such a place, chatting about the hotel and the places we had yet to see, the time passed by quite enjoyably, (Do you believe it, too, that the enjoyment of coffee depends on the place you drink it as well as the company you have with you?)

The biggest surprise was the pianist that accompanied us while we were having our coffee, playing differentiate versions of popoulars songs. This was the first time I saw something like that in my life, coffee accompanied with piano music.

Would I recommend it to a coffee lover? YES! Among all the coffee stops we made during our trip, this was my favourite one. Perhaps not the best coffee I have drank, but the place made it just perfect. Would I go again to this cafe? Sure, YEAH! I simply adored it.

If you happen to travel to Belgrade, take my advice and visit "Hotel Moskva" to have a cup of coffee.
