Me acerco a estas páginas para compartir este poema que escribí a mi padre cuando encontré esta antigua fotografía. Hace tiempo se marchó a otra dimensión; sin embargo, su recuerdo seguirá en mí para siempre.

I come to these pages to share this poem I wrote to my father when I found this old photograph. He has long since departed to another dimension; however, his memory will remain with me forever.

A pesar del tiempo

Pasan los años
Estás aquí
el oleaje no se detiene.
Es tu abrazo recurrente
en esta vida
donde sigo aún
Te fuiste antes
tu recuerdo
permanece en mí.
Te sigo amando
Como no hacerlo
Si me enseñaste tanto
Extraño tu abrazo
Tu voz profunda
Tu sonrisa
Me parece ver tus manos
Y la profundidad de tu mirada
Eso que ya no volveré a ver
Quedó grabado en mí
junto a tus consejos,
tu ejemplo
tu presencia.
Cada vez que la ola se retira
sé que volverá
su permanencia es eterna
cómo tu recuerdo
tatuado en mi corazón.

Despite the time

The years go by
You are here
the waves don't stop.
It is your recurring embrace
in this life
Where it is still my place to be
You left before
Your memory
Remains in me.
I still love you
How can I not
If you taught me so much
I miss your embrace
Your deep voice
Your smile
I seem to see your hands
And the depth of your gaze
That I will never see again
It was engraved in me
along with your advice,
your example
your presence.
Every time the wave recedes
I know it will return
its permanence is eternal
like your memory
tattooed in my heart.
